22.01.2022 What a beautiful sunny afternoon in the park in Blacktown today We served about 25 patrons. They had a great choice of meals thanks to our wonderful volunteers- lasagne, pasta bolognaise, chicken, veggies, coleslaw and a lovely curry and rice. Tonight we had Birthday cake and they all sung Happy Birthday to Jocelyn and I, which was lovely Thank you to Peter, Paul, Caleb, Jocelyn and Marie for all of your help today. Thank you to Chelsea for cooking the lovely cakes Thank you to Foodbank NSW & ACT for providing so much amazing food for our people. Thank you to Good360 Australia for empower packs which were given out today. They put smiles on faces especially to the kiddies

22.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon Deavelyn, Jude, Sara, Diana and team served about 24 lovely people from the Blacktown community. They were served a selection of take away meals and tea and coffee and cake. Some lovely cakes were cooked and shared by Amanda and I heard they were very nice. They also gave out lots of fruit and veg and bread and groceries. Breakfast packs were also given out. Have a great week everyone and I’ll see you next week Joanne Oliver

20.01.2022 Lovely Saturday afternoon in Alpha park today. So many great meals were provided today, they were given a great selection, with thanks to our great cooks A great selection of fruit and veg was given today Lots of linen was given out today due to a large donation from a lovely lady also some very large chocolate Easter eggs were given out as a treat, they puts lots of big smiles on some faces Thank you so much to all volunteers, you are all so helpful and amazing Thank you to Foodbank NSW & ACT for your support of fruit and veg and other drinks and food. Thank you to Good360 Australia the Easter eggs and nappies were very much appreciated

19.01.2022 Saturday 10th October We had another beautiful sunny afternoon in the park with about 35 people, including some families. Lots of take away meal choices were given and fresh fruit and veggies and bakery and grocery items. Some toiletries and clothing were also given. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers and helpers, it was a great afternoon

18.01.2022 6 years ago today, 4 friends went into the city for what was going to be a one off food service. They took in some chicken and vegetable soup along with some sp...aghetti. They fed the few people that were there. The patrons loved it and asked for them to return. It was only going to be a one of service to bring some Christmas happiness. Fast forward 6 years. One Meal it Makes a Difference now has 9 weekly services that serves 1000’s meals per year. Although this year has been more challenging that anything we have ever faced before, we at no stage canceled any of our services, actually increasing them by 2 by adding much needed services to Kingsgrove and Surry Hills. We have a strong and dedicated board of directors led by Robby Cook and the very best volunteers that we could ever wish for. So happy 6th birthday One Meal. Here is to 2021. See more

17.01.2022 There will be a take away meal service at Alpha Park this afternoon for the homeless and those in need at 4.00pm. There will be lots of fruit and veg and bread and other grocery items. We will be on rain, hail or shine Hopefully the sun stays out and we will be out in the park, otherwise we will be in the hall behind the tennis courts

17.01.2022 Saturday 7th November We had about 22 people join us, including a few new faces. It was beautiful weather, just a little windy. Thank you to my amazing team of volunteers who support me week after week. All in need are welcome There will be meals, fruit and veg, bakery and grocery items, plus we may have some yummy chocolate treats A very big thank you to Foodbank NSW & ACT for their ongoing support to help us provide this much needed service to our community

13.01.2022 Welcome to the One Meal- Blacktown page. One Meal - It Makes a Difference is operating in a number of areas across Sydney. The Blacktown service began in late 2017. We have been providing a weekly meal every Saturday afternoon to the homeless and those in need since. Our services were initially located on Main Street and recently we moved to the hall at Alpha Park, thanks to the support of Blacktown Council. Our services include providing a hot, good quality meal, take away ...breakfast packs and bottled water, clothing, blankets, and toiletries including female hygiene products. This is a real and growing need in the Blacktown area. We rely on the generosity of volunteers, sponsorship arrangements and local fundraising activities. 11.01.2022 Most of you would know this beautiful lady Rosie from One Meal Blacktown. She has volunteered with our Blacktown service since our early days at Blacktown station. She has the kindest heart and would help anybody in need when she can. She has become one of my closest friends and she means the world to me and to the patrons of Blacktown. The only time she is unavailable to help me at our service is when she is helping her family, especially her beautiful Granddaughter. Sadly on Boxing Day Rosie’s Granddaughter passed away. Please keep Rosie and her family in your prayers. Rosie asked me to thank you all for your support and understanding at this very sad time Joanne Oliver

10.01.2022 We had a crowd of about 22 at Alpha Park this afternoon despite the wet weather. Lots of delicious meals were given out as well as lots of other groceries. We also were able to hand out lots of masks to keep our beautiful people safe. Other goodies like clothing, shoes, brekkie packs and even food for their furry friends. Thank you to all of my amazing volunteers who helped me this afternoon I also want to say thank you to Cowboy Vince (Vincent) for coming down despite just getting out of hospital yesterday. We wish you a speedy recovery and hope you’re feeling better soon Joanne Oliver

09.01.2022 What a very successful and happy evening in Blacktown today. We had a joint Christmas party with the other charity food services. There was quite a big crowd of people there. They left with happy faces and their arms full. Thank you so much to my amazing team of volunteers who help me to help others. I want to say a huge thank you to my hubby Peter who helps me so much to do what I love! Thank you to my children too who helped me package gifts and hampers this week and helped out today. Thank you to Deavelyn and Jude, Leigh, Karin, Fred, Lucas, David and Amy and Kathie for your help today! I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
