07.01.2022 No we’re not going broke! Our main phone lines have been disconnected by Telstra and you can call our office mobile on 0438 943 492. Well we’ve had the biggest ...stuff around that no business should have and we’ve had all our landline phones disconnected for 8 days now. We eventually got through to someone in India who said this was an accidental disconnection ( second time this year) and had them divert our phones to the office mobile, which they’ve now stuffed that up too. Tours are still operating as normal and can book online through our online booking system on the website - https://www.malenydairies.com/ We reckon Telstra could have a call centre in Australia for Australian’s, so at least we can get through as we’d like our phones back on. Pretty quick would be nice. Oh well we’ll see how long this takes. We apologise for the inconvenience. MD

04.01.2022 CREATURES OF THE NIGHT: Fun bat facts! We get 3 kinds of flying-foxes here on the Sunshine Coast: The black, the grey headed and the little red flying-fo...x. The little red flying-fox is the smallest of the species found in South-East Queensland. Adults weigh a tiny 300-600 grams (pictured). Megabats, or flying-foxes as they are usually called, are the largest of bats and the Grey headed-flying fox can have a wingspan of up to 1.5 metres. They feed on fruit, blossoms and nectar. Around 20% of all mammals are bats Bats are the only mammals capable of true flight Bats hang upside down because if bats had big enough muscles to hold their body ‘right way up’ they would be too heavy to fly. They hang upside-down so they are light enough to fly. Find out more about this incredibly important Sunshine Coast species https://www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au//Native-/Flying-Foxes
