25.01.2022 With all this craziness in the world we are excited to announce that we now have an Occupational Therapist. Introducing Julia! Julia is available now to start seeing you in your home. Call us on 0429115211 #StayHome http://ow.ly/cLtr50yXaeY

25.01.2022 We come to you. #StayHome

25.01.2022 It's because of the hard work of Western Australians that we have been able to get our State back on track and operate as close to normal as possible. What's im...portant now is that we stay the course and keep up COVID-safe principles. Starting tomorrow, certain businesses and venues will be required to maintain mandatory contact registers to support COVID-19 contact tracing. To make the process as quick and easy as possible, the WA Government have released SafeWA, a free app which will provide businesses with a digital COVID-19 contact register system. Businesses or venues required to keep a contact register include: - Food and licenced venues (restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, taverns, nightclubs) - Gyms, indoor sporting centres and pools - Places of worship and funeral parlours - Beauty and personal care services including hairdressers and barbers - Galleries and museums - Cinemas, theatres and other entertainment venues - Auction houses and real estate inspections - Community facilities, libraries and halls - Zoos and amusement parks - Function centres - Accommodation facilities that already have check-in arrangements in place (i.e. hostels, hotels, large camp grounds) A paper-based register system will also be available. To download the app, visit www.safewa.health.wa.gov.au.

25.01.2022 We have been quiet on SM; unfortunately not a priority for me but this is worth the share. Over the past couple of months we have had a number of Therapists away on Maternity Leave. Here are Roisin and Raph with their two new additions. OTGRS has been built around the needs of families, both new and old. Our clients are important to us but so are the needs of our therapists. The flexibility that we offer allows new mums (and dads) just like Raph and Roisin return to work when they are ready and with a schedule that suits them. We have many positions available at present; OT, Podiatry and Physio. Contact us today if you are looking to work with an amazing group of therapists.

25.01.2022 OTGRS will bulk bill EPC clients during this time. Conditions do apply. Call 0429115211 for details #stayhome

17.01.2022 Today is World Physiotherapy Day a day to recognise the important role physiotherapists play in healthcare and the wider community. Physiotherapy and physical... activity play an important role in helping people recover from severe illness. World Physio Day 2020 is focused on rehabilitation after COVID-19, but here in Australia we are recognising the importance of physiotherapy rehabilitation after all types of severe respiratory illness. During 2020, innovative applications of physio practice have been at the forefront of administering high quality healthcare. This has ensured patients can rehabilitate safely and at their own pace for the best chance of full recovery. More information: https://australian.physio/wpd

17.01.2022 The annual reminder of the force behind why OTGRS exists. This is my Gran, today would have been her 115th birthday. At the ripe young age of 101 she was still living at home independently. Forever inspiring.

17.01.2022 New APP created by the Australian Government providing information regarding COVID-19. #StayHome http://ow.ly/WMFp50yYNtN

16.01.2022 This is a very real concern. We have attempted to encourage our clients to continue seeing their therapists; whether this if face to face or Telehealth. Many have, which is excellent. However there is still a small percentage that have 'isolated' themselves. We understand the decision however with the Telehealth option there is no reason to put yourself at risk, especially if you do suffer from a chronic disease. #StayHome http://ow.ly/bqGS50z9vRN

05.01.2022 THANK YOU WA! The president of the Australian Medical Association (WA), Dr Andrew Miller, has taken the time to pen a letter to the West Australian ...community, thanking them and Premier Mark McGowan for their efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is Dr Miller's letter in full: To the Western Australian community, Thank you! The most recent lower numbers of people in our community who have tested positive to COVID-19 is gratifying to see. Premier Mark McGowan and his government are to be unreservedly congratulated for implementing strong social and border controls and making WA one of the best places in the world to be during this pandemic. These measures have people working from home, and school and university students learning from home. While it has been very difficult, its been undertaken in a very short space of time. We have enormous gratitude for the government and while we have had our bumps along the way, and a few bruises were inevitable, we really appreciate you locking things down as much as you have. This is particularly important for our vulnerable communities in the regions. Observing these measures will help to manage this pandemic in a way that reduces the amount of mayhem, destruction, infection of healthcare workers and unnecessary death of patients. We certainly have a real sense that the community is starting to understand this now. Congratulations also to Attorney General John Quigley, the government and all Members of Parliament on passing the Guardianship and Administration Amendment (Medical Research) Bill 2020. Now trials of new therapies for COVID-19 patients and other patients incidentally in intensive care units and emergency departments in WA will be allowed to take place. It brings us into line with the rest of the country and it means you, your relatives, your friends will be able to try the same new therapies for this horrible condition as everywhere else in the world. To Joondalup Health Campus Public & Private thank you for taking on a big load of those patients from the cruise ships. I know that the team there is working really well together, it is stressful, in difficult conditions and theyre doing a fantastic job. In terms of preparation and training, public hospitals are doing very well - they are quite advanced with their teams. Although there are still shortages around personal protection equipment (PPE), we have some green shoots and confidence that we will be able to improve on that by the time the big caseloads hit. Thank you to Andrew Forrest and the Minderoo Foundation for securing additional PPE for WA. The first load of PPE that arrived in Perth is being delivered to public hospital facilities by the State Government. The Australian Medical Association (WA) is also involved helping to get out supplies to the non-hospital sector so that we can provide some reassurance to aged care, general practice and other specialists who dont work in hospitals. We will work together to ensure there is enough PPE to protect our health care workers through this pandemic and ensure that vulnerable patients also continue to be provided with world-class care. To our doctors and health care workers thank you for always putting the health of our community at the forefront of the work you do. To the AMA (WA) Council and our staff I greatly value and appreciate your advice, support and hard work. And finally, thank you everyone for your patience with this shutdown. While we know this will be for a period of time, it will also be a time none of us will ever forget - but lets make that for the right reasons. Yours sincerely, Dr Andrew Miller President AMA (WA)

05.01.2022 With the recent push to self-isolate it is essential to continue to remain active. Exercise CAN support our immune system and has proven to support our mental health. This is particularly important when we are talking about our aged population and those with chronic disease. Continue to see your therapist. Here at OTGRS our therapists our limiting their community exposure, taking their temps daily and maintaining excellent infection control. Our priority is your health and well-being.

05.01.2022 The usual Cold and flu's are still around. Not every cough is a sign that you have Caronavirus. If you have the COVID-19 symptoms AND have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 OR have recently travelled overseas then please call the Information Line on 1800020080.

04.01.2022 Just a reminder that if you have a current CDMP (EPC) from your GP for PHYSIO, will be bulk billed (no gap) whilst we are being told to #StayHome. These sessions can either be done in the comfort of your home or via telehealth subject to condition. Call 0429115211.
