23.01.2022 Some of our highlights of Darwin while house sitting for 5 weeks.
21.01.2022 Yanchep National Park WA camping ground is 50 klms north of Perth and an ideal place to perch yourself to explore the surrounding area. The campground is well layer out with plenty of room between sites. Also has generator areas. Toilets and showers. The park is amazing with so much to see & - bush walking trails, caves, koala walk, kangaroos, wetlands area, cafe and Tavern. Just bliss
20.01.2022 Litchfield National Park is a must see when visiting Darwin. It’s the home of great waterfalls, crystal clear swimming holes, termite mounds and walks.Wangi Falls and Florence Falls have great unpowered camping for tents, campers & caravans, but you need to get in early for a spot. We couldn’t get a spot so stayed just out of the park at Banyan Tree Caravan Park. Basic but clean with a pool, not mention cheap.
14.01.2022 Rainbow Valley NT just south of Alice Springs. Well worth the 22klms of corrigated dirt/sand for an overnighter to view the sunset.
09.01.2022 Finished our trip in early June along the Gibb River Road. This was our second time on the Gibb so didn’t visit some of the places we did last time. Time taken: 10 days Water Crossings: 21 all shallow Worst stretch of road: from Kalumburu Rd to Home Valley- extremely rocky Distance travelled: 880 klms along and in and out... Places camped: Windjana Gorge, Bells Gorge, Drysdale Station, Home Valley I took a flight from Drysdale Station over Mitchell Falls which was amazing and well worth the money. You actually get to see how vast the country side is out that way and just spectacular. Damage: plastic connection under the van to shower and the car lost steering fluid 20klms from Home Valley. Otherwise it was a great trip and not crowded. See more
09.01.2022 A great free camp between Jurien Bay WA and Geraldton is Cliff Head. Toilets and shelter with tables. A short drive in on a good dirt road. Lovely beach, fishing and beautiful sunsets.
07.01.2022 Just spent 4 nights relaxing at Gladstone Beach-Shark Bay, halfway between Kalbarri & Carnarvon WA. Have stopped here on a previous trip and just love it and @$11pn with toilets, dump point, water, bush shower, it’s bush camping at its best and right on the waters edge. The old jetty was used in the 20th century when ships came from Denham to collect wool and sandlewood. Mainly popular with fisherman, but boat needed as the tide goes out a long way, with some tricky launching and retrieving needed. The water is crystal clear and warm. A drive around the coastline takes you onto salt flats. Oh! yes another great sunset. That’s one thing WA has plenty of ....beautiful sunsets. in Gladstone, Western Australia, Australia.
06.01.2022 Follow us on our tour of the Yorke Peninsula SA.
04.01.2022 Bremer Bay WA a magnificent spot to perch yourself and explore the region. Fantastic beaches with crystal clear water and white sand, fishing, surfing, walks, bird life but best of all the only places in the Southern Hemisphere to see large numbers of Orcas between Jan-Mar.Highly recommend a day out on the sea with Western Australia Whale Watch not only seeing Orcas we saw Pilot Whales, Sunfish,Dolphins, Fur seals, birds.
