Everyone handles troubling times differently and like grief there is no right or a wrong! What I see however is a need to be present, present to the day we have and present for those around us in anyway we can. A phone call, a message, a touch point, a connection could make a real difference in someone's life. Be the light to someones dark, show people you care! 18.01.2022 So what is OOMPH you ask? Is it fortitude in the face of a crisis? An extra pep in your step as you navigate this new world? The sound you make when life takes your breath away? Maybe it’s all of the above.... This crisis we have all been submerged in has drenched us all with anxiety. But it’s also given us all what we’ve longed for. Time. Time to dig deep. Time to reflect. Time to reorganise our cupboards and our priorities. It’s also given us the distressing gift of realising the emotional distancing we perhaps have been engaged in by rushing through our day to day lives. I believe one’s real character, their moral compass and the posted values of an organisation are tested and displayed in times of uncertainty. 14.01.2022 It is fair to say many are crippled by fear at present, with an overwhelming number of family members, friends, clients and often even myself feeling under siege, knowing that no one is immune to the fall out of this current pandemic. But recipient of numerous notable awards in his time, Vaclav Havel (1936 - 2011) wrote something quite philosophical that resonated with me during this current crisis, "Isn't it the moment of most profound doubt that gives birth to new certaint...ies? Perhaps hopelessness is the very soil that nourishes human hope, perhaps one could never find sense in life without first experiencing its absurdity." So what do we make of this absurdity? Perhaps to entertain our dreams, to look at our true-selves, to take this moment and turn our comforts into creativity and make our decisions based on hope not current fear.
