23.01.2022 Paint from construction site in Bass Coast running into Anderson Inlet. Council contacted three times in last 48 hrs. No bylaws officer available. Not good enough How often do these events happen unnoticed???

21.01.2022 Believe it or not! Summer is upon us and so our extra coastal visitors will be flocking to the ocean. I've been finding rubbish in unexpected places already. If your someone who, without fanfare pick up rubbish on the coast please get in touch with me. Just send a photo of your cache and where you collected it to [email protected] This will be documented- put on the website and useful data will be recorded. Cheers Jen M

20.01.2022 Hey Bass Coasters can you share this?

16.01.2022 So true, take care everyone and enjoy the time with family and friends. Think about the plastic rubbish we create it's just as easy to pack your own from home. JenM

15.01.2022 If we only look at economic outcomes the future is bleak. Watch this vid and register or write to your local MP.

15.01.2022 Last Sunday during our 10k beach clean up all of this rubbish and more was found on the Cape Paterson walking tracks. For further data collection, please send any photos of your regular coastal or beach clean ups to [email protected]

14.01.2022 Here's where our seventy volunteers spent their time on a cold windy Sunday cleaning up Bass Coast - well done everyone. You can go to map and see what debris was collected at each spot.

14.01.2022 Please watch and share. Let's encourage others to reduce and hopefully stop using single use plastics. Cheers Jen M

12.01.2022 Smartwax concept is going places we never expected!

11.01.2022 Jumping for Joy : NSW Desalination plant expansion on hold! Lovers of clean oceans and healthy waters can breathe a sigh of relief today as the expansion plans ...for the Sydney Desalination plant have been put on hold. This strengthens our case to clean up all Australian outfalls and secure water supplies into the future through water recycling. See more

11.01.2022 Clean up on at the Powlett .

09.01.2022 Such a beautiful place, like every coastline and we need to stand up to the polluters! I’m signing.

09.01.2022 Wannon Water have put in a Works Approval application that is now live for comment. The sewage plant currently discharges treated effluent to the Southern Ocean... at Thunder Point via an onshore ocean outfall (as you can see in this video filmed on the weekend). Wannon Water plans to expand their operation and double the amount of treated effluent currently being discharged into the ocean. In regional Victoria, Warrnambool has the largest volume of treated effluent discharged into the ocean, it is 16.5 ML per day (16-17 million litres). This will be increased to 30 million litres a day once the expansion takes place. Most other regional coastal outfalls (outside the metropolitan area) average 3ML or below per day. We would like their plans to include better treatment of waste water to a Class A Tertiary Treatment standard. What are your thoughts? Have your say here: https://engage.vic.gov.au/epa-works-approvals/wannon-water See more

06.01.2022 Urgent! Watch the video, follow the links to have your say to the EPA Australia's coastline at Warrnambool. Submissions close 1st July.

Recently bought two such t- shirts ( one with merino and one that claims it resists odour and was all cotton) Be interesting to see how they go. Not washing and wearing for a whole week! Clean one every day may be a hard habit to break!

02.01.2022 Please engage in this process if you care about what will changes will happen to your Bass Coast beaches. Want to be able to walk your dog (responsibly - on a leash etc.) while you pick up rubbish and other marine debris along our beaches? Do you want an upgrade to the waste water treatment plant near Eagles Nest to make a publicly accessible inland wetland? ... Or something else? Now's the time to let them know!
