25.01.2022 Time to scare some pins... Happy Halloween

25.01.2022 A continuation of posts with photos of recipients receiving their awards. We have an absolutely fabulous local association in the Orange Tenpin Bowling Association. Every year they hold a Presentation Night Awarding Bowlers for their amazing bowling achievements in the year. Due to Covid this is the first time in 36 years that an Annual Presentation night will not be held . The board of directs will be presenting local bowlers awards within their leagues all this week. I will... be posting everyday photos of the recipients and their awards. Today we congratulate... Marilyn Schwenke and Ron Forbes who received recognition for their OTBA Life Memberships, awarded previously. The OTBA acknowledged their Life Memberships with a Certificate and life members badge this year. Congratulations on some many years of continued memberships and service to our beloved sport of Tenpin Bowling. Marilyn has served as Secretary/ Treasurer of the OTBA for more than 25 continuous years. She is the heart and sole of the association and our members are so very lucky to have her. Ron Forbes also was a director on the OTBA board as Acting Tournament director and assisted in running many touraments. We thank you and count ourselves very lucky, to have people like your wonderful selves here in Orange.

Matt Bryant for winning the Award of Male Disability Bowler of the Year and Donna Holland for the Female Disability Bowler of the Year. They both are vision impaired bowlers and are amazing bowlers that inspire us to enjoy and try an achieve our goals no matter your ability. They both compete in our leagues and in as many state events as possible. Adam Drewe was awarded the Most Improved Bowler throughout the whole centre with a massive 30 pin improvement. An outstanding achievement. Blake Frecklington awarded the high game bowling a 300 game in 2020 at the Orange Tenpin Bowl. Outstanding Bowler More come in the following days.

He was so very relaxed We watched every frame of the game ( rotating lanes) was in the pocket for every shot except for the 1st in the tenth and the last ball in the tenth frame. 18.01.2022 Every Friday Penny comes into the Orange Tenpin Bowl with a wonderful big smile that just makes you instantly feel happy. Penny loves bowling Friday mornings and then again Friday night in the 6pm league. She is always ready to bowl her very best. Well today Penny bowled a fabulous PB of 153. Now that made her smile real big. Congrats to our Penny Medway you bowled great.

10.01.2022 You know what? we love seeing people walk through our doors sometimes just to come in and say HI. Well this week we had Ken and Margaret Skelton come up. It was a pleasure to have a catch up. Look forward to seeing you back in again sooner rather than later. Check out all the badges from where the both had bowled in the past. Plus Ken’s 800 ( 3 game series ring) a proud moment in Ken’s bowling life. Looking wonderful, would love to see you both roll a ball down the lanes next time.

10.01.2022 Today’s outstanding bowlers bowled impressive scores with the best being Chris McConnell with a 2 game series of 500 and Steven McConnell boing 73 over average with a 248 game, Sarah Devenish bowling 60 over average with a 209 game. 50 over ave score or just great bowling day. Then Breanna Hoovey bowling 50 over average with a 177 game.. PB by Mason and great great bowling both games and just great games in both by Samson both over 20 pins average. Well done everyone

I will be posting everyday photos of the recipients and their awards. Today it ...will be about the Life Members awards. These 3 people had been awarded Life memberships some years ago but the Association felt that they needed to give them a presentation of a certificate and A life members Badge to commemorate their life membership. Bob Taylor for his service to the sport by writing a weekly Tenpin Bowling sports article in our local newspaper for now over 3O years. Gwen Britt and Henry Phillips also for the continued long term memberships and both long term OTBA Board members and the service to the sport of Tenpin Bowling to this day. How lucky are we to have these wonderful people in our sport.

04.01.2022 Today we held a fantastic event. A local tournament the OTBA Adult League Tournament. Our local association Was the major sponsor for prize money of $300 for first place in each division and paying down to 5th place in each division. It was a truly well run and well supported tournament. We thank our local Tenpin Bowling Association( OTBA) for their fantastic support and role of care for our local bowlers. This was a tournament for our local league bowlers were able to compe...te and have to say they bowled outstandingly. Thank you to all for entering and for making it such a great event. I will post lots more photos later but for now just the results of the top 3 placings for Male Scratch, Male Handicap and Female Handicap and the participants. 01.01.2022 What a fantastic fun tournament today we held the Annual OTBA Adult/ Junior Scotch Doubles Tournament. It truly was a huge success. Congratulations to everyone for making it such a fun event. Not an easy tournament as one bowler bowls first ball in the frame and the second player bowls the second ball. They rotate turns throughout the games. 5 games bowled. Congratulations to the place getters. ...
