24.01.2022 Have a look at our livestream ......

24.01.2022 Plenty of ripe blueberries in the two clusters.

23.01.2022 Only a few more weeks until we start picking this years crop of blueberries. To make room for our new season crop, we need to clear out the freezer, so, we have a limited amount of frozen blueberries at a special price of $20 per kilo ($10 per 500grams) Normally $30 per kilo. These blueberries are 1st grade blueberries and are perfect for use in cooking or having on your cereal. Pick up from the farm by appointment. Contact us on 0418262763 or message us through FB.

22.01.2022 This is a great initiative, get on board. We are.

21.01.2022 Very wet here this morning, had to make the call to move the stock out of the sacrifice paddock. Hope we get a few sunny days soon.

21.01.2022 Farms2Schools is a fabulous initiative and we are really enjoying being involved. Get your school on board or if your in agriculture, get on board.

20.01.2022 Final preparations for garlic planting in a few weeks. Hoeing, applying our own farm made compost and then forming the beds. Big day of work!

20.01.2022 And then there were twins!

20.01.2022 Such a good girl. Mustered the cows and now having a rest

19.01.2022 We were one of the farms that participated in this program and it was such a fantastic experience. The facilitators were great and the kids we met were amazing.

19.01.2022 For all of those people that have helped out with our re-vegetation days over the past few years. Here’s an a few photos of the growth of your hard work. If you look carefully you can spot one of the last remaining, standing telegraph poles if the long gone Strezlecki railway line.

18.01.2022 We have started the renovation of our sacrifice paddock, Paddock 8. This is the smudger levelling out the ground. Next comes the seed drill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oADrdqyTR54

17.01.2022 Is this another set of twins? I think not. Toosook, who was a poddy calf and now over 5 years old, learnt how to steal milk when she was very young. Bad habits die hard! What makes it even more bizzare is that the other cows dont mind her getting a drink.

16.01.2022 Maggie our farm cat, striking a pose.

15.01.2022 Our cows like to share! The cow in the middle is Toosook and is 7 years old and still likes to steal milk. What is more surprising is that the other cows let her. The calf at the end isn’t even the calf of Toosook.

15.01.2022 What a great idea for Xmas.

14.01.2022 Bit windy here today.

13.01.2022 The cows and calves moving in to a new paddock. Brandy helping.

13.01.2022 Mmmmm lemons and blueberries, and we just happen to have plenty of both.

12.01.2022 Farms2Schools is an innovative new program that will provide students with an insight into how agricultural products get from the paddock to their plate. School...s from across the Port Phillip and Western Port region will be teamed with local farmers from across Melbournes Foodbowl who will share their experiences and knowledge via virtual incursions. Expression of interest are now being accepted from schools and farms that would like to be involved. The program will run throughout terms 3 and 4. Head to www.ppwcma.vic.gov.au/farms2schools for more information and to complete an EOI form. The program is run by the PPWCMA in partnership with AUSVEG Victoria and is supported by the Victorian Government. #Farms2Schools #SustainableAgriculture #MelbourneFoodbowl PPWCMA Grows Agriculture DELWP PortPhillip Victorian Farmers Federation Environment Education Victoria -EEV

12.01.2022 The dog got the gator bogged.

12.01.2022 This is what happens when 85hp meets an immovable object. Oops breakout the welder.

12.01.2022 Well iso has had a positive outcome. This broken down Honda engine and pump has been sitting in the workshop for a couple of years. So off to eBay I went for parts and rebuilt the engine. One old looking, but as new, engine/pump back in service.

11.01.2022 Second set of twins this year! One bull and one heifer.

10.01.2022 Beautiful first day of spring at the farm!

10.01.2022 Beautiful spring Quince blossom and honey bee.

10.01.2022 Pretty fruit whip, only a few more weeks and we will be picking.

10.01.2022 Spectacular sunset on a beautiful evening.

09.01.2022 Another of our videos produced for the Farms2Schools program. Had the big chipper on-site to covert our fallen timber to mulch for the blueberries. Hop over to Youtube and check it out on our Youtube channel. https://youtu.be/m_f5uoVasA0

09.01.2022 Started planting the garlic a little over a week ago and already one variety - Rocambole, has started to shoot!

08.01.2022 Weaners doing orientation on their fresh paddock.

08.01.2022 Brandy helping me plant the garlic - NOT

06.01.2022 Hi, I have been selling our garlic to people who are going to plant it in their own backyards. I have been asked how do you plant? What do I need to do? So I though I would put together a few steps to follow for those planting in the South East. 1. Make sure you have composted the soil - about 1-2 weeks before planting. The garlic needs to be in raised beds - about 8-10 cms 2. Separate the cloves a few days before planting. Plant the garlic cloves about 15cm apart and th...e rows 15-20cm apart. Flat side down, pointy side up. Push the cloves into the ground until the pointy end is just at ground level. 3. Cover with sugar cane mulch - about 6-8cm. The garlic will push through. 4. Fertilise after planting with a seasol/powerfeed and then fertilise again in September and then at the end of October. 5. I start harvesting at the end of the first week of December and hang the garlic for 4-6 weeks to cure. The garlic needs to hang in a space that has good air flow. A couple of other points - garlic does not do well competing with weeds. You could use a weed mat and cut slits and plant the garlic in each of the slits (this is what I do using a certified organic weed mat) otherwise make sure you stay on top of the weeds. The garlic should start shooting in about 7-14 days. Good luck with your planting and if you have questions contact me and I will try and help.

06.01.2022 The Legacy blueberries are awake now and starting bud burst. Looking really good, fingers crossed we can get them all the way thru to harvest in mid-December.

06.01.2022 Prompted by our Farms2Schools participation, we have established a Youtube channel. Head over and check out the videos that some of the kids will be using.

06.01.2022 Very cool, giant wood fungus.

05.01.2022 Something unusual from the farm today. This cute little bull calf was born yesterday, when I went out to check on him I noticed something missing. Can you spot whats missing? Ive been breeding cattle for over 40 years and I have never seen this before.

03.01.2022 Very inquisitive calves this morning on this almost spring like day!

03.01.2022 Great day at the farm

03.01.2022 After a bit of a shaky start to life the second lot of twins are doing well now.

03.01.2022 Got a pretty cool snap this morning of one of our unpaid workers hard at work pollinating.

01.01.2022 The second set of twins having a good feed - poor Mum

01.01.2022 We are stoked to be part of this program, it is great.
