17.01.2022 In my time as a market gardener growing herb seedlings, I gained an appreciation for organic farmers. In my grandfather's day, they lived off the land and grew crops and raised animals. Today they would be classified as practicing sustainability, permaculture, aquaculture, organic farmers, but back then it was just a way to survive. Many are cynical about organics and believe it is just a market term used to charge more. And sadly sometimes it is. But we need to understand a...nd support the many farmers who take great care and attention in their art of farming. Often mischaracterized as simple laborers, in reality, organic farmers are forward-thinking dynamic individuals that take great care to ensure their practices bring no harm to the environment, whilst creating nutrient-dense, clean food for themselves and their community. Some forms of commercial agriculture put great pressure on the environment. The pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers can adversely affect soil health, to the point where land is no longer able to produce crops. Then more of our bushland is cleared to create more farmland. So if you see an organic product and wonder why it costs a little more, know that the organic farmer has put in more work to produce clean, vibrant food that will not adversely affect the environment. I was inspired by the vitality of organic herbs and their healing properties. I love playing piano & singing, practicing qi gong, reading and spending time in nature. 03.01.2022 Why do we grind? I AM EARTH Chais have semi-ground star anise and cardamom and finely ground black pepper, nutmeg, and cloves. I take pride in every batch I create as we make chai with no compromises. Freshly grinding spices give vitality to the chai and makes each bag last a little longer. ... Why is our chai dry? While all the cool kids are making wet chai I AM EARTH prefers to be the odd one out. I prefer not to presume how you like your chai so if you do decide to add honey or maple syrup you can control the dosage. Our premium blends only need a small amount of sweetener to balance the flavour. Also, I believe keeping the chai dry optimizes the benefits and flavour for you the chai lover.
