25.01.2022 Congratulations to OEEGA NSW and to the Community for their support of the Children’s Cancer Institute fundraiser during a difficult 2020. We raised $44,000 and saved the equivalent of 4 children’s lives. Due to the pandemic no one expected that OEEGA NSW could raised any funds for the CCI in 2020. However in 2020 OEEGA NSW raised $44000 saving many children’s lives. Since 2007 when OEEGA NSW started the fundraising for CCI they have raised $414000 to date (including this ye...ar’s $44000). The President Irene Anesti and the Committee mobilized in support of the CCI initiative and were given only 6 weeks to complete the fundraiser. OEEGA NSW received great support for the CCI fundraiser from Clubs, Associations, Community organizations, Councils, political and religious representatives and many businesses (Greek Australian and Non-Greek Australian). We also had a wide range of business and community leaders willing to support us during the Radio marathon. We all know that 2020 has been a difficult year. It was truly astounding to see how many members of the Community from business owners to pensioners and others who struggled financially yet were willing to travel to come to the Radio station or go to their nearest Delphi Bank to deposit even a small amount of money in support of the initiative. A warm thank you to all those volunteered and supported the CCI Fundraising initiative in 2020. We hope to see you again in our future fund-raisers.
