25.01.2022 My background was first in community Pharmacy before I studied and started practising Chinese Medicine. . . As a Pharmacist, I experienced much heartache seeing so many customers come and go with medications that they do not know the names of and for what they are for. I wished to be in a more proactive place of help for them, offering other possible healing solutions. And so I went to study traditional Chinese Medicine, specialising in Acupuncture. .... . This is a very unique and naturalistic system of medicine, that has evolved through millennia and is still evolving today. Researchers are also increasingly aware of its efficacy and thus contributing to a rapidly expanding body of scientific evidence. . . To learn a little bit more about acupuncture and my practice, pop onto my webpage at: originacupunctureclinic.com.au . . 22.01.2022 It was back to the drawing board last week at the Si Yuan Balance Method professional seminar... an intense 4 days of practical philosophy, theory and clinical case studies. My mini-break from clinic is now over and am back refreshed with more insights into this magnificent system of medicine! The wellspring of knowledge never ends...

22.01.2022 Its heartbreaking to see this news...after 25 years of forming professional Chinese Medicine practitioners in Australia, the UTS TCM degree will be forced to close. In a time when more people in our Australian communities are demanding this medicine, and are truly gaining results, it simply makes no good sense to shut this down. It seems our not-so-friendly Friends of Science colleagues are on a vicious mission to see an end to all alternative health traditions not pleasing to their narrow definition of science.

21.01.2022 In Chinese Medicine, localised pain, numbness and tingling is often be a sign of poor or suboptimal circulation or qi flow. These symptoms can have many different underlying causal factors, of which chronic stress and tension is a common one. A Chinese Medicine diagnosis is by what’s called Pattern Differentiation. This is always individualised and is like taking a snapshot of one’s current state of health and formulating a care plan to address these patterns of imbalanc...e. Our bodies are dynamic and as we begin to feel better, these patterns will inevitably also change. Have a question about what we do? 10.01.2022 http:// BEGINNER TAI CHI CLASSES 2021 - PART 2 // HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2020 was a bit of an 'ew' year... May this New Year of 2021 bring new hope and restoration for all of us! ... As mentioned in my previous post, STARTING 3RD FEBRUARY, I will be teaching weekly Beginners Tai Chi Classes at the Miranda Community Centre! In this Beginners Tai Chi Course, I will personally take you through the standard Yang Style 40 Form over 40 weeks. The entire form takes about 15-20min to practise and contains 40 movements from start to finish. Each week we will aim to learn 1-2 new movements along with regular review of earlier ones. Don't worry if you have any health concerns or physical restrictions the movements can be adjusted to your current capacity. Tai Chi is never about forcing your body to do what it cannot, but about gradually opening up the possibility for greater ease and flexibility! A brief background about me I started learning with dad when I was about 7 years old. At that age, it seemed every kid had to learn some basic stances and other techniques... It wasn’t until much later in my late teens that I developed a personal interest for Tai Chi, under the inspiring influence of my father! // Enrolments are still open! // Please visit my website (link in bio) and you will find more information on what this Tai Chi course will cover, and how to enrol! #taichi #sutherlandshire #chinesemedicine #tcmlivingwell #healthyliving #acupuncture #exercisetherapy #taiji #taijiquan #balance #yinyang #communityclass #meditation #relaxation #tranquility #calm #newyear2021 #newyeargoals #newyearnewyou #newyearresolution

10.01.2022 Auricular Acupuncture or Auriculotherapy is a relatively newer form of treatment compared to the traditional Chinese meridian system. Over a period time, this was done through a combination of auricular acupuncture, herbal ...supplementation, body acupuncture, and also a helpful self pain management system via the Curable App my patient has discovered. . . 08.01.2022 A place for quiet healing and restoration. . . In restoring balance, some things take days, some take months and even some may take years. All this depends on your unique constitutional makeup, history and place in life. .... . Chinese Medicine isnt about quick fixes, although if can be instantaneous in its efficacy. It isnt simply about doing away with any condition either, although it can do that too. 06.01.2022 http:// BEGINNER TAI CHI CLASSES 2021 - PART 1 // Starting 3RD FEBRUARY 2021, I will be starting some Beginner Tai Chi Classes for health in the Sutherland Shire! I will personally be taking you through the Yang Style 40 Form over 40 weeks. The classes will run weekly in 10 week blocks (excluding public holidays). If you haven’t heard much about Tai Chi before, here’s a little intro: WHAT IS TAI CHI & WHY PRACTISE IT?... Tai Chi or more formally, Tai Chi Chuan () can be described as a form of mind-body exercise that is rooted in traditional Chinese philosophy, Chinese Medicine and martial arts. Therefore, it can be applied for improving health, as well as for self-defence. In our classes, we will focus on the practice of Tai Chi for improving and optimising our physical and mental health. While there are many styles and forms of Tai Chi, it generally involves the integration of gentle and intentional movements with our breathing and cognition. Through focused relaxation, we can gradually improve our balance and coordination, mental calmness and concentration, and increased self-awareness. In our everyday lives, it can help us to grow in our physical and mental-emotional capacity to respond to the many stresses life brings, instead of simply reacting to them. More details will be up on my webpage, but for those who are interested, here are some initial details for the classes! VENUE: Miranda Community Centre TIME: Wednesday 7:30 - 8:30pm COST: Community class (6-18 people) $25 pp Small group (2-5 people) $75 pp Private lessons $150 pp Whether you have done some Tai Chi before, or wish to try something new in the new year, these classes will cater for your needs. It is suitable for just about everyone and the movements can be easily adjusted to your current health capacity! 03.01.2022 http:// BETTER BALANCE & BETTER BONES // Many physiological processes are happening simultaneously when it comes to maintaining balance including sensory perception, muscular support, strength and flexibility, neuromuscular coordination and cognitive awareness. Practising Tai Chi intentionally integrates all these processes and this is why it can be so helpful in improving balance and preventing falls. A randomised-control study published in the New England Journal of Medicine ...has found that Tai Chi can improve balance and motor control in patients with mild to moderate Parkinson’s Disease. The trial consisted of 195 patients that were randomly assigned to one of three training groups: Tai Chi, resistence-training exercises, or stretching. The groups attended twice weekly training sessions over a 6-month period. The Tai Chi group performed 4 times better than those in the stretching group and around twice better than the resistance training group [1]. In post-menopausal women, it is known that the bone strength decreases very sharply due to rapid hormone changes within her body. In 2017, a systematic review study was conducted to determine whether the practice of Tai Chi had an effect on attenuating bone mineral density (BMD) loss. A total of 1604 people were included in the review, a combined total from 20 different randomised control trials. The aggregated results from this systematic review suggests that Tai Chi is effective in attenuating BMD loss in the lumbar spine and hips of the elderly, peri and postmenopausal women, osteoarthritis patients, as well as cancer survivors [2]. 02.01.2022 Clinic Update: //ONLINE APPOINTMENTS// are now available! Full details are found from my website! . Link: http://www.originacupunctureclinic.com.au/online-consults-- . .... HOW WILL ONLINE APPOINTMENTS WORK? Online appointments will be done via ZOOM. Like Skype, it is an online video conferencing platform, but you do not have to download any software in order to use it. It is simple and easy to use! The purpose of the online appointments is a way to ensure patients may still access the benefits of Chinese Medicine but in a modified manner. Of course, acupuncture treatments will not be possible over this platform and so will not replace it. However, there is still much that can be done to help you and help you look after yourself. This can be in the form of guided acupressure points, moxibustion techniques and manufactured herbal supplements if necessary. Any items can be mailed out to you if you cannot pick them up physically from the clinic. . . CAN I CLAIM FROM HEALTH FUND? As far as I know, it is possible to claim these under Acupuncture or Chinese Medicine Consultations, but not Acupuncture treatments. This is because these online sessions does not involve direct acupuncture needling. However, please check with your Private Health Fund in accordance with your current policy. I am happy to provide you with any necessary paperwork to help you make any claims. . . Were getting through this together! As much as possible, stay calm, keep warm, and keep drinking lots of warm-hot lemon water! . . #chinesemedicine #tcm #zoommeeting #onlineappointments #covid_19 #coronavirus #healthyimmunesystem #onlinehealthconsultation #acupunctureworks #acupressure #moxibustion #acumoxa #acupuncturist #sutherlandshire #sutherlandshirebusiness #healthyliving #boostimmunesystem #stayinghealthy #mentalhealth #stressrelief #emotionalhealth #selfcare #chinesemedicineworks #sydneyacupuncture
