25.01.2022 Super stoked to be the winners of the #Defib courtesy of the Gold Coast Community Bank branches. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. In a perfect world, all the clubs who were nominated would have access to a unit as well. Greatest respect to all the volunteers who keep all these clubs going, week in, week out. Looking forward to catching up with our friends at the Gold Coast North Community Branches for the official handover.... #Scoutsqld #scoutsgoldcoastregion #educationforlife

25.01.2022 Congratulations to all leaders featured on this year's Adult Recognition Awards, including one of our own. Scout Leader and former Joey Scout Leader, Rebekah Ninness.

24.01.2022 What does Youth led adult supported look like? Today 23 Scouts from the Ormeau Cub Unit executed the plan they made to travel to Brisbane from Ormeau via public transport and visit parks in Brisbane. They caught the train from Ormeau to Roma st, completed a scavenger hunt at the Roma st parklands.... The Cubs then traveled by train to Milton and hiked to Frew Park where they played on the forts and climbing walls. From Frew park they hiked to Milton ferry terminal and caught a city cat to South bank to float around in the lagoon for the afternoon before returning via train to Ormeau. 5km hiked 1,000,000 calories burnt 23 Cubs had heaps of fun and will sleep well tonight.

24.01.2022 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY To all our dads, stepdads, mums who hold the dual role, uncles who step in, grandpas who help out or significate male role models in our children's lives... Wishing you a wonderful Father's Day! We celebrate and thank you!

22.01.2022 On this centenary milestone, we give thanks to those who served. To the 62,000 who left and never returned. To those who returned and were never the same.... Lest we forget

22.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

19.01.2022 We hope all the Dad's had an awesome day. We are blessed to have a heap of Dads involved in the running of our group with at least one Dad as a leader in every section and many others involved in other roles.. We acknowledge and respect the role of influential males in the development of youths and we strive to be good male role models, for the youths in our care.... To the Dads, Stepdads, Uncles, Friends; We salute you!

19.01.2022 The Ormeau Joey Scouts got out and about over the long weekend, doing some snorkelling before it gets too cold. Some new skills were learned, everyone had fun, and we look forward to doing much more snorkelling when the weather warms up again, later in the year. #Scoutsqld #scoutsgoldcoastregion #joeysdostuff #ormeauscoutgroup #snorkelling

18.01.2022 Great day at Ormeau Lions Club, Ormeau Fair today. Come and see us tomorrow from 8am-4pm. Our activities are brought to you with the assistance of PODS, Maleny Dairies, and of course East Coast Cranes.

17.01.2022 The Ormeau Scout Group stand was the best one at the Ormeau Lions Fair 2018 (according to one 6 year old we surveyed after she completed a 12 crate high stack). Everyone wanted to visit including our friend the Hon Michael Crandon MP who brought Hon Deb Frecklington MP, Leader of the Opposition around to discuss the importance of Scouting in local communities and across the State. Mr Crandon threw out some crate stacking challenges to his peers, which unfortunately due to af...ternoon winds, will have to be settled on another day. Congratulations to Kate, a local teenager who set the weekend record of 14 crates high. We hope to see her name on an application form soon. We were supported over the weekend by PODS Australia who provided our secure storage, Maleny Dairies who provided our 50 milk crates and of course East Coast Cranes who provided arguably the best looking 25t Franna crane in all of Qld as our skyhook for rigging. All of this is made possible by the tireless work of the Ormeau Lions Club who devote themselves to serving our Ormeau community and beyond. #scoutsqld #gcscouts #ormeau #cancrandonclimbcrates

Seems obvious now with the new coat of paint doesn't it.... (Sorry, photo borrowed from Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce, photographer unknown)

11.01.2022 Tonight our Cub Unit participated in a good old Halloween who done it. Unbelievably during parade in the moments of a brief black out, one of our leaders was discovered on the floor unconscious. The Cubs had to work there way through 4 bases to uncover clues of the person responsible.... There was a helpful minion working with the Cubs to decipher Morse Code clues. A Pirate and and lost Fisher working with the Cubs in a game of star sign guess who. A Ghoul and Harlequin conducted 20 Questions And a super hero in a mask using cardinal directions to discover hidden clues. *No leaders were harmed in the making of this event*

03.01.2022 Hi awesome community. Coming into Summer, as we look to engage in more water sports, a defib would be a really good asset to have as part of our risk mitigation. 01.01.2022 This is what inclusive Scouting looks like. Breastfeeding mother and Joey Scout Leader Kimi from Ormeau Scout Group outlined some Adventurous Activities goals i...n her ADP late last year. Fast forward to this weekend's BOS Course, and we ran a weedbuster weekend around the Cub Pack Shelter with our Scouts, so that Dad Cam could run baby Hux to and fro for feeds, while Kimi participated in BOS along with 4 other leaders from our group. What a great bunch of humans. Thanks Joe Cazey for your understanding and support across the weekend. #breastfeedingmumsareleaderstoo #AAgoals #weedbusters #checkoutthenewOrmeauGrove

01.01.2022 What does the promotion of women's rights look like in our local community? At Ormeau Scout Group our girls participate in the same activities, compete in the same challenges, develop leadership skills learn the value of teamwork, the same as everyone else. Our Group is stronger because of our diversity. Our female youths and adults learn from their experiences here and teach us as well, from their own experiences.... We believe our girls are better equipped to enter any workforce or career and thrive, by finding their strengths and developing them. On this day, and every day, we are grateful for the Women in our movement who bring so much to the table. #tieknotslikeagirl #girlsarescouts #independence #leadership
