14.01.2022 Crews from two 2018 competitors got together over the past few days to compete in the annual Melbourne to Stanley race. MAVERICK Skippered by Rod Smallman with son Tyson were joined by by David Kenny and Paul Schulz from THE EDGE. Along with other crew members Leeton Hulley, Susan Turnbull, and Emma Schiesser they completed the run to Stanley with a finish time of 1d 00.13.23 For these guys this race was run as a shakedown and is a qualifier for the Sydney to Hobart which the...y’ve entered and there’s more training planned for them with the race just around the corner. We hear that two other crews, Mark and Rohan from MR LUCKY and Todd and Dubbo from KRAKEN will also join forces to make up a crew for the Sydney to Hobart. We’ll certainly be keeping an eye on both these boats in December.

01.01.2022 Our friends at OHYC are bracing themselves today as one of the strongest Typhoons on record approaches Japan. Here’s a post of the Club yesterday. "Recently we’ve enjoyed great weather but its been raining for the past couple of days. Without weakening, Typhoon No19 is now approaching and is forecast to hit the Osaka area on the 12th. Preparations around the Club have been made based on last years experience. With extreme winds and high tides, don’t forget to check your ropes and fenders."
