21.01.2022 Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries experienced amongst the population. They are also one of the most underestimated injuries; close to 50% of people don’t seek medical attention. An untreated ankle sprain may lead to chronic ankle instability and weakness. Proper diagnosis is vital to ensure the correct management plan is given. Here are some tips if you have an ankle sprain... 1. Initially: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. 2. Taping and/or bracing can help to improve pain. 3. If pain is severe, crutches can greatly improve recovery. 4. Once pain and swelling starts to reduce, it is important to begin range of motion and loading exercises. 5. Seek medical advice- Podiatrist, Physio, Osteo etc. ** If you have had multiple minor ankle sprains, it is important to address why this is the case. Appointments are available Thursday and Fridays 8am-4pm and every 2nd Monday 4pm to 9pm. Call 5940 5245 for an assessment! #osbornepodiatry #health #pakenham #ankle #anklesprain #pain #chronicankle #podiatry #injury #foothealth #footinjury #running #sports #netball

01.01.2022 Do you suffer with heel pain? Plantar fasciitis is one of, if not the most common foot condition. I see it in my clinic every single day. When treating plantar fasciitis, it is important to address not only the symptoms, but the underlying cause.... Therefore, the treatment protocol will differ from person to person. Treatment involves a series of steps. Through assessment, we will determine when a step has been fulfilled and progression to the next step is appropriate.
