25.01.2022 The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review Taskforce has finalised its review of the MBS. In general, the allied health recommendations are promising, with a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary care. Of note, the Mental Health report recommends a committee be established to decide which professions provide care under Better Accessan area around which OTA has already done much work, and which will continue to advocate on. 07.01.2022 As part of the 2020/21 Federal Budget, funding of $100.8 million will provide up to 10 additional psychological therapy sessions each calendar year under the Better Access Initiative. This means that BAMH-endorsed OTs can now deliver 20 sessions of focussed psychological services through Medicare.
