Due to the expansion of our services, we are seeking an experienced Lifestyle Assistant for 8 shifts per fortnight. To be successful in this position you will require: Essential A highly motivated and engaging personality with a desire to teach and make a difference within the home An approachable and caring demeanor A passion for aged care and working with the elderly and lifestyle, and an understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people Self-motivation with well-developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, delegate and attend to multiple tasks A positive, energetic, and professional approach to work The ability to assess each resident’s social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs, and design appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet these needs The ability to develop and deliver programs that are highly engaging, person centered, evidence based for people with dementia and combine a wide range of functions A consultative approach with each person at the center of decision making High level written and verbal communication skills The ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, patience and listening skills.
