She performs her duties knowing that her role is clearly defined and that her rights are still, even today, greater than what any other ideology has provided. She is a woman of moral excellence, true to her nature, not confused by alien and morally bankrupt ideas. She preserves her self-respect and dignity through her piety in obedience to Allah (swta) and his Messen...ger (pbuh). She is the role model that every true believer hopes to emulate. My review : I would say this book is definitely a keeper. It's translated to be an easy read for Muslimahs striving to better themselves. It covers all aspects of a woman's life, beginning with her relationship with the Lord, and moving on the family, neighbors, and society at large. The author uses beautiful verses from the Quran and hadiths to support a point. At times, I found the explanations to be repetitive, especially when it was common sense. Perhaps the repetitiveness was to reiterate how easy it is to be a good Muslimah and to put greater emphasis on what is an 'Ideal Muslimah.' The book itself is only 32 pages long. So do not expect it to be a fully comprehensive guide answering all of lifes questions. However, seeing as it is aimed at 9-11 year olds, the size of the book is appropriate and covers the basics that are needed with the following topics covered: School life What do we believe in? What are you wearing? How are you behaving? How are you spending your time? Whats happening to your body? Taking care of your body Although brief, what I like about the book is it explains puberty in simple terms. Explains about periods, that you will bleed, you may feel tired and irritable and may have cramps etc. It is also explained that you cannot pray salah and explains that you need to take a special bath after to purify yourself. The book explains how it may be difficult at school, seeing friends do things that for us are haraam, but that as a Muslim things like smoking and drinking are haraam and we must remember this. In regards to behaviour, friends, parents, teachers and boys are briefly touched upon. There are some issues I personally have with the book in that it says you should avoid dying your hair with anything other than henna and that temporary tattoos including dots on the forehead are not allowed. As far as I am aware, these arent actually sins. (Feel free to correct me if I am wrong). Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous good deeds, forgiveness and a mighty reward (Paradise). (Al-Fath: 29) The Prophet Muhammad (S) said: "The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth. Some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain-water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, (making their animals drink from it) and to irrigate the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allahs Religion (Islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah (Azawajal) has revealed through me (the Prophet ) and learns and then teaches it to others. The (last example is that of a) person who does not care for it and does not take Allahs Guidance revealed through me (he is like that barren land)." My review : I would say this book is definitely a keeper. It's translated to be an easy read for Muslimahs striving to better themselves. It covers all aspects of a woman's life, beginning with her relationship with the Lord, and moving on the family, neighbors, and society at large. The author uses beautiful verses from the Quran and hadiths to support a point. At times, I found the explanations to be repetitive, especially when it was common sense. Perhaps the repetitiveness was to reiterate how easy it is to be a good Muslimah and to put greater emphasis on what is an 'Ideal Muslimah.'
