19.01.2022 Hey folks Hope everyone has been having fun out there adventuring J We did a daytrip to Koombaloomba Dam this week, was so refreshing and great to be there again. We haven’t been to the dam for a few months due to covid and the weather.... This trip we did something we haven’t done in all our trips out there, we trolled all around the banks in an out of little coves and inlets. It is amazing the amount of debris under the water creating all kinds of fishy hideouts. Some of the structures we had never seen before and they also proved to be very hard to find again on returning to the boat ramp. In total we only caught 4 black bream and 1 dumb turtle. All were returned to the water unharmed. The weather gods were shining on us and the water was just beautiful. A very relaxing and enjoyable day #ourbackyardadventures #reidys #shimano #curado #lowrance #daiwa #quintrex #detecting #minelab #xterra #goldpro #color #exploring #adventures #zereklures #classiclures #chasebaitlures #mugbug #yamaha #gamakatsu #fins #gloomis #blackbreamfishing #squizzy #boating #gopro #cameras #halco #photography #fishing #yamaha #gloomis #blackbreamfishing #pirtekfish #abugarciafishingtackle #snapontools #spotters #sunglasses #borrowingdadsboatagain #trudiethephotographer

18.01.2022 Hey Folks We went detecting yesterday. Old army training grounds out the back of Ravenshoe / Milstream area. Found old bottle dumps & retrieved some very cool unbroken bottles. Also we found some live ammo. Unfortunately no badges, buttons or buckles this time, plenty more ground to explore out there.... Will clean up the bottles an post pics on Friday. 16.01.2022 If anyone is keen to tag along we are doing a road trip to Darwin next September/October 2021, it will be the latter part of Sep early Oct school hols. Visiting kids and grand kids is the main reason but we also intend to go magpie goose shooting at least once maybe twice a day while we are there. We will spend a night or 2 in Mount Isa to catch up with a couple of mates as i feel bad that i haven't stopped the last couple of times.

05.01.2022 Well what an afternoon we had at Tinaroo. Trudie decided instead of our usual all day trip to Koombaloomba we should spend the afternoon at Tinaroo, which made sense as we had stuff to do in town this morning, Sounded fair it’s closer and we need to start learning the place if we are ever going to catch Barra there. Any way we arrive about 1pm, prime Barra time said know one ever. We launched the boat complete with new Bimini near the ski club. The mud was soft and we tes...Continue reading

04.01.2022 We did an afternoon trip to Mandalee. Water level was good and flow was just the right. Did see some large Tilapia and Trudie spotted a ripper size Black bream, but never caught it. Peter landed a couple and then went for a walk down past the rapids, where there was alot of small fish caught. Catching any size is good fun

03.01.2022 An awesome Australia Day at Koombooloomba Dam. As usual the water was crystal clear and the weather was perfect all day. Trudie was hands down the Black Bream champ of the day from 34cm to 44cm. Most caught on lure. Peter close second with fish measuring from 34cm to 36cm. The day was spent cruising and fishing in an out of coves and inlets, didn't bother going up the top as there was already 8 other vessels on the water an heading up there. We had a lovely swim in one o...f the coves at a spot on beachy area. ( No red mud, no mud at all) #fishingislife #koombooloomba #flatzrats #gloomisrods #classiclures #shimanoreel #silstarrod #blackbream #damfishing See more

02.01.2022 Hi all it’s been quite some time since we posted on the page, with family taking priority we have been a bit slack on the fishing side of things, then into the bargain we have moved house and haven’t even had a chance to unpack our stuff yet, but luckily we know where all the fishing gear is as we have again entered the Pirtek fishing challenge raising money for the fight against prostate cancer, a very worthy cause. We weren’t going to enter this year due to various personal... reasons but the stars have now aligned and we will be departing Herberton for Koombaloomba dam at 5am tomorrow morning. As some of you may remember I came second last year with a 102cm Barra so hopefully Trudie or myself can go one better and take out 1st place. Anyway there will be plenty of pics and vids to come In The next few days. If your going fishing over the weekend have fun and stay safe. See more
