21.01.2022 Humans of Our House We have such beautiful people come through Our House as guests ... true treasures Meet Ronald Clay from Yamba.... During his 9 weeks of treatment for prostrate cancer he and his wife stayed at Our House. Feeling weary after 4 weeks of travelling back and forth each day for treatment Ron and his wife enquired about a place to stay and heard about Our House. This lead to a 5 week stay which has just been a relief for Ron. Ron is well known in the Yamba region through his dedication to the Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba as he is Vice President. One of Ron and his wife Gail loves of Our house was the community dinners that just kicked off this year ... this is where the community come in and cook our guests a homemade meal ... Pictured is Ron on his last day at Our House We wish you all the best and thank you for being part of the Our House community

11.01.2022 Our House is a purpose-built accommodation for those undergoing treatment in Lismore. Many of our gems in our area stay during their treatment and they all have incredible stories .. here is one of them. Meet Eric, he is a Grafton Gem and resident country music singer crooning through the day to keep spirits high.... Trained as a firemen to work on the trains alongside the train driver, Eric moved to Grafton after driving the ‘Indian Pacific’ and the Parkes ‘Silver Bullet’. He settled in Grafton with his wife Judy who saw musical talent in him and surprised him with his first guitar where he went off to singing lessons to learn to play and sing together. He learnt by singing Slim Dusty and Tex Morton songs. Eric was diagnosed with Lymphoma in 1999, it has been a rough road and in 2001 lost his wife to breast cancer but has found that singing keeps his spirits up and sooths the soul. If you are around Our House you may hear Eric, this has been his home away from home lately.
