Our first Parish Summit will be held as we discern the vision and mission for our parish, and listen to what God is calling each one of us to be as part of Our Lady of the Valley Parish. A reminder to sacramental families that there is a rehearsal for First Holy Communion children immediately after Mass at Gatton and Laidley next weekend.... Have an amazing weekend! May you see God’s blessings in every minute.

19.01.2022 From the Parish Office I hope your week has been fantastic and you are staying safe and well. The notification of a positive COVID case in our area certainly reminds us to be vigilant, to keep our social distance and to wash our hands regularly. May your weekend be absolutely fabulous especially if you are able to get together and celebrate Father’s Day.

18.01.2022 From the Parish Office I hope you have had a great week from winter to summer weather in a few days! Thank you for continuing to arrive early for Mass and graciously accepting your seat allocation.... Have a wonderful weekend!

16.01.2022 From the Parish Office This weekend, the Psalm response is ... My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God. This psalm seems such a timely plea with our God as we continue to face the daily challenges due to the pandemic restrictions. It only changes everything for many people! Their work life, their home life, their hopes and future plans are all affected.... This weekend is also Social Justice Sunday with a particular focus on mental health, and being able to live and love life to the full. The link to the full statement is on the front page of the newsletter. Have a great weekend!

16.01.2022 From the Parish Office Has your world been turned upside down today with the news of the lockdown for the Greater Brisbane area? While our parish does not fall within the 5 local authorities of Logan, Ipswich, Redlands, Moreton and Brisbane who have been sent into lockdown, we feel for the many people from our parish who regularly travel to Brisbane for work and personal reasons. Hopefully this lockdown will serve its purpose and we can return to our normal routines again soo...n. For everyone attending our churches this weekend, please remember to maintain social distancing and use the sanitiser on entry and exit. In this weekends newsletter there is a wonderful reflection from Fr Noy, some great information on our parish vision and also details of upcoming training sessions and rosters. If you have a milestone birthday or special anniversary this year, be sure to email me or add your name to the list at the church. Have a great weekend stay safe!

16.01.2022 From the Parish Office: What a busy few weeks we have in October! This Sunday there will be information available to recognise Dying Peacefully No Euthanasia Sunday. It is amazing how many facts are not easily available yes a difficult subject, but also necessary to understand. Next weekend there are 21 children making their First Holy Communion please pray for them and their families at this special time. ... We have also recommenced baptisms and you will get to meet some of these families of the next few weeks. Please support and encourage them in their faith journey. We will also have an ambassador from Catholic Missions joining us later in the month to share their story and mission. Our faith journey, while an individual one, is also a community one. The Parish Summit at the end of October is going to be an important event where we explore the opportunities for our own growth and how we can facilitate this ... plus how we can ensure our parish embraces the mission of Jesus in the wider community. Please phone the office to register your interest in attending. Have a great weekend!

12.01.2022 From the Parish Office This weekend is the Annual Catholic Campaign. An opportunity to support the good work being done in the Archdiocese with the MacKillop Fund providing education bursaries; the Priests Foundation caring for retired, elderly and ailing priests; nourishing our future priests at the Holy Spirit Seminary and reaching out to the vulnerable and marginalised through Centacare. Each of these four groups used to have their own appeal throughout the year, but they ...are now combined into one. Envelopes will be available at the churches this weekend. The school holidays start today may you enjoy this special time together. May God watch over you in your travels and activities. God bless you!

09.01.2022 THANK YOU As 2020 draws to a close, please know that each and every thing you have done during this year has made a difference. Many regular volunteers could not do their normal roles due to being in a high risk category with corona virus. Generous people stepped up to fill the gaps, especially as there were many new things that had to be done.... Who would have thought we needed monitors and ushers at Mass, or that we needed to book for Mass! Who would have thought we couldn't sit in our favourite seat ... your graciousness and kindness in quietly following the protocols has been appreciated. It has made what could have been a stressful time, a time of blessing instead. Wishing you every blessing for a wonderful 2021.

06.01.2022 From the Parish Office I hope you have had a good week, and didn’t suffer too much damage in last weekend’s hail storm. Last weekend we had our Parish Summit, which was very well attended and provided great inspiration for everyone. The next step is our Parish Survey. A wonderful opportunity for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the pastoral ministries we currently have, and what can be developed.... A copy is attached for your convenience, and it will also be available in your newsletter at Mass this weekend. Your feedback is important and valued please take the time to note your thoughts and return to the Parish Office or place in the box at church. Please find attached the newsletter for this weekend. If you think that life is getting way too busy and you need a chance to step back, please consider coming to the Reflection Day at Ormiston on 28th November. It will be fantastic and a moment to just think about you for a few hours. I hope you have a relaxing weekend!
