20.01.2022 Thank you for sharing @th3littlestavenger Its now been two years since I’ve nursed a babe. Two years since I felt the tingling sensation of my milk letting down.... Two years since I’ve stroked a babes cheek while they look up at me, milk drunk and sated. Two years since my body has been essential to their life. To think I used to feel SHAME. To think I ever felt like a failure. When now I sit here, desperate for that feeling again. . I had two breastfeeding journeys in my lifetimeneither was a bit like the other. Im grateful for every moment that we made it. Every tear that we shed. This is one of the first photos ever taken of myself nursing the girls (shared a few more in my stories). It actually took 8 days for my milk to come in so what we did was, dry nursing on the nipple off and on, followed by a tube system that filled a nipple shield with formula to simulate nursing. It was a rigorous process that required my husbands help. Every. Single. Time. So every 2 hours like clockwork we would start the process over - for eight days straight. Nothings ever made me feel so lost, yet so proud. There is truly nothing in the world like it. You know I kept a bag of breast milk in the freezer for almost a year after I stopped nursing. It’s taken a long time to grieve the end of that journey. And I’m still somewhere in it. Closer to the top now. Closer to closure . See more

06.01.2022 When I had the chance to come up with my own colour range of silicone bibs I started with this colour. My favourite colour of all It’s a colour I remember from one of Ollies shirts. When Ollie was 1 I dressed him in that colour all the time. And now when I see it, I think of my little one year old babe. One of the best things about this business being mine is I get to choose the colours I like and I hope you will like too
05.01.2022 FOOT RESTS Let’s talk about the basics and explain why babies even need foot support when eating. We asked Speech Language Pathologist and Feeding Specialist Kayla Richardson to weigh in:... One of my biggest feeding tips for parents is to make sure your baby is in a good feeding position. It is the very first thing I look at when I get a referral for a child who is struggling with feeding skills. It seems so simple, yet so many high chairs on the market aren’t built to support this idea. Proper position and foot support really can make a HUGE difference in your baby’s feeding skills with solid foods. A feature that is missing on so many high chairs on the market is an adjustable footrest. If your baby’s feet are dangling while they eat, they are likely to get fatigued more quickly, and they might struggle maintaining attention to the feeding task. By providing a footrest, it allows your baby’s whole body to be stable. Making sure it is adjustable will ensure their knees and hips remain at a 90 degree angle as they grow. A 90-90 seating position allows better trunk support for your baby’s body. Those of us in the therapy world know, Proximal STABILITY before distal MOBILITY. This is just a fancy way of saying, the more stable your baby’s trunk is, the easier it is for them to use their hands and their mouth! Have you heard about safe eating posture before? I had no idea when we used the IKEA highchair for our babies, but there’s been so much more education in the last couple years.
