13.01.2022 We grew over 161 kilos of fruit, veg and herbs last year! What should our 2021 target be?

12.01.2022 This time last year we tallied how much produce we grew in 2019. Our target was 50 kg, and we came in at 78. We decided to set a new, more ambitious target for 2020 as we knew Chris was planning on building new garden beds... we aimed for 150 kgs, and we’ve just added up the numbers and came in at just over 161 kgs! This doesn’t include anything grown for, or donated to, our lovely chickens, just what has been used for human consumption. We’re pretty chuffed! So, what should be our target for 2021? Any ideas? Picture: Beautiful lightly coloured Calendula... almost a shame to pick the petals to sprinkle on a salad. Still, calendula has wonderful anti-inflammation properties, so I think it will grave some greens soon.

10.01.2022 We are incredibly lucky to have truly nourishing friendships in our lives. To have people whose love and care make you smile more, cry less, laugh harder is a blessing. Plus, we also really love people who love great food as much as we do... and home deliver it to us! ;-) Our wish for everyone is to have nourishing friends!!! They’re awesome!

09.01.2022 SOLD. Who’s keen for our first cracking fresh veg box of the season? It’ll contain a small punnet of freshly picked cherry tomatoes, rhubarb stems, and loads of healthy greens and some lovely herbs, plus 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from our happy chickens, fed with certified organic grains, greens and goodies from the garden. Pick up today, Wednesday, at agreed time (please PM to arrange). I need minimum 30 minutes to freshly pick all the goodies.... $28 - comment to claim it as yours. 06.01.2022 Absolutely loving these practical yet gorgeous additions to our kitchen from Laura at @southernsydneyfoodcollective - they look awesome! We look forward to refilling with eco non toxic products like our own home made hand soap, and those we buy in bulk to save as many labels, bottles and tops ending up in recycling or landfill as possible - plus it’s more economical!

01.01.2022 It’s here! Organic Maple Syrup - the real deal! And the perfect 1L size for the fridge! Maple Syrup is a staple in our kitchen on porridge, in baking and as a natural sweetener - and a winner on pancakes with our nephews! Use by date of 2 years (or 6 months after opening) this 1L is $38.95, so much more economical than buying it 200ml at a time :-). ... 6 litres are left, as they’re being snaffled up quick! Unlike maple flavoured syrups, which contain additives such as corn syrup, glucose, artificial flavouring, preservatives or other additives, organic maple syrup is crafted from 100% pure Canadian maple tree sap no nasties!
