We work with residents of nursing homes and diversional therapists to deliver assisted autobiography courses to seniors living in care. 14.01.2022 On Saturday we were lucky enough to meet the folks of Good For Nothing for the Sydney jam. A team of marketers, developers and business wizards gave up their Saturday to work with Our Stories, sharing their passion for the work that we do and forging new and exciting campaigns. There was so much energy in the room over the 9 hours spent together. Truly amazing people and an invigorating and inspirational experience. A huge thank you to all of our collaborators.

14.01.2022 On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we remember them. "...I enlisted at the age of seventeen but they kicked me out and then once I turned eighteen I joined the navy and they took me in. As soon as I had joined the navy they told us to bring a cut lunch and meet at the train station, there was a group of about twenty or so of us there, and as soon as we were all there we were told that we were hoping on a train to Melbourne. I served on the HMAS Gascoyne which... was a Frigate and the first of its class of ship, we were mostly an anti-submarine ship with about one hundred and seventy crew on board, we were stationed with four American destroyers during the war. My job was to swim from the ship and plant the flag. I also loved to collect shells. One day I had swum off the ship and was ready to plant the flag when I saw a great specimen to add to my collection. I bent down to pick it up, just as a bullet whizzed past my ear from up the beach. It would have got me in the body if I hadn't have seen this shell. The beach wasn't clear after all. I was quick to get out of there. I was glad for my love of shells" See more

12.01.2022 After our volunteer training yesterday for our program starting next week, we are training 90 recreation students with UWS today in the Our Stories program for use on their pracs and in the workplace. Bring it!

12.01.2022 How about FREE pool entry for Wollondilly Seniors for all of February! We are teaming up with Wollondilly Council to encourage seniors to get active during the... month of February by getting along to their local pool to swim or walk laps. Residents can visit us here at Picton or Warragamba Pool for FREE seniors access. Simply sign in each time you visit. If you currently have a membership we can suspend or extend it so you can take advantage of the free access. We also have FREE Gentle Aqua Aerobics classes at WCLC, however bookings are required for Aqua and classes are limited to 35 participants.
