24.01.2022 Hamelin Bay One of the best experiences so far! These huge Manta Rays were so friendly, obviously used to the tourist factor, would swim right up to the shore looking for some food and a pat. Beautiful spot to sit back while the kids played and watch the sunset over the water. @ Hamelin Bay Beach

23.01.2022 Cape Leeuwin Light house, not only is it the most south westerly point in Australia, but it’s also were the Southern and Indian oceans meet. Looking out to sea you can see the two distinct oceans, with the two seperate currents travelling in opposite directions. Cape Leeuwin continues to be a working lighthouse. The reef on this tip stretches out 47km, and has seen its fair share of ship wrecks and deaths over the years, As our tour guide explained, although our light houses often have the most beautiful views of country they also come with many sad tales. including the HMAS Nizam, that was hit by a king wave in 1945 and swept 10 men overboard.

21.01.2022 After visiting the Animal Farm & Pentland Alpaca Stud, we now have 75% of the family convinced to sell up and move to the country. With a huge range of animals, including lots of babies, we were free to roam the paddocks, petting, cuddling and feeding, to our hearts content. With the FOR SALE sign in the rabbits cage, the boys couldn’t comprehend why we couldn’t buy one. My constant reminders that we were living in a caravan fell on deaf ears. And I think at one stage they had smuggled two guinea pigs out in each of their pockets. Needless to say we got out of there as a family of four, but with a long wishlist of animals to start this new farm!

20.01.2022 It’s not everyday, you get the chance to take your 10yr old for a swim with a whale shark! Little did we know, 2 humpback whales we’re cruising past about 15 metres away at the same time.

09.01.2022 Climbing the Gloucester Tree in Pemberton was the bravest things the kids have ever done. At 53m tall, this Karri tree is the second tallest fire look out tree in the world. After reading the warning ‘not recommended for kids’ sign, observing the lack of safety nets and then climbing 20 or so wrungs, they both decided to head back down, as I continued on. Another mum, above me, was afraid of heights, so I had a job of being the calm support and talking (distracting) her for... the climb. With our kids and husbands below, cheering us on, we made it to the top, took a few pics and sang out to the families below, before beginning our descent. As soon as I reached the base of the tree the boys had built up enough courage to give it another go... but only if I went with them. So off I set again, with two children in tow. They both hesitated at the same point and began to climb back down, but after a few words of encouragement and poke in the bum, they both climbed all the way to the top and back down again, much to Joff’s horror. Very proud of both of their efforts!!

07.01.2022 Another adventure undertaken in drizzling wet weather, this time we were headed out on the valley of the giants tree top walk in Tingledale just outside of Walpole, in the south west corner of WA. These tingle trees are the third tallest species of tree in the world There was something a little magical about walking along, 40 metres above the ground in the forest canopy, whilst the rain was sprinkling down upon us. After our tree top walk, we explored the ancient empire boardwalk and the giant grooves in the red tingle trees. The boys loved walking through these and looking for the mini bats that lived inside them

05.01.2022 A little video of our time swimming with a Whale Shark in Coral Bay, WA. We certainly felt like we got our monies worth on this tour, not only getting to swim with so much sea life but watching the hump back whales as they migrate north, frolicking just metres away from the boat. A once in a life time experience, neither of us will forget too soon.

05.01.2022 Long time between posts. Lots to catch up on but for now we are enjoying 24 degree days snorkelling at Coral Bay.

02.01.2022 Watching the (almost) full moon rise over the Cape Range mountains and the sunset over the Indian Ocean, in Exmouth, has definitely been a highlight.

01.01.2022 Just a 3m tiger shark cruising around, on the lookout for some dinner
