19.01.2022 Important news from the Australian Camps Association: Camps are ready to host schools and community groups in the COVID-19 environment! OutBeyond is confident that we are well equipped to manage the risks associated with COVID-19 and that we will continue to offer excellent, well managed and safe experiences for all of our students.... Camps offer the most time and cost-effective way to re-connect school communities emerging from social isolation and remote teaching. Research from the Outdoor Youth Programs Research Alliance www.oypra.org.aushows that participation in camp programs: Decreases anxiety Increases efficacy Increases connection with peers Increases connection with school. Camp activities are fundamentally outdoor experiences. Being outdoors has well documented physical and mental health benefits as well as providing a lower risk environment for COVID-19 transmission. The Australian Camps Association and the Christian Venues Association has produced a COVID-19 Guidance Document for Camps which draws on the best resources from expert bodies to ensure that our member venues continue to be highly prepared to host groups of all kinds. This Guidance document includes measures such as: 1. Education for Camp staff and schools. 2. Compliance with social distancing. 3. Amended food service, activity and accommodation practices Screening of staff and incoming groups - daily health checks for each staff member and participant in line with Federal government guidelines. 4. Checklists for increased sanitisation and cleaning of camps. 5. A Risk Register for all commonly experienced situations with groups and staff in camps. OutBeyond will strictly follow the guidelines for the safety of the school groups during the COVID-19 Environment.

12.01.2022 We are celebrating World Water Day. Do you know that in some countries, people are suffering from water-related natural disasters? Which is causing unnecessary disease/death or allocations? Water use and climate change are inextricably linked. If we provide education about water usage, we can stop these negative situations happening around the world. Using water more efficiently will not only reduce greenhouse gasses but also reduce a large number of people suffering from cli...mate change. As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we aim to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, lakes and rivers. As such, we can educate young people to respect nature. #outbeyond #worldwaterday

01.01.2022 Outdoor camp programs are, by their very nature, risky activities. However, we can always mitigate the risk by means of providing adequate safety training and preparing all the necessary equipment. Our facilitators are all highly trained and we provide safety training to students before the activities as well.
