16.01.2022 "The Mountain" is opening for the school holidays! With restrictions lifting more and more OENSW's Gosford Centre at Mangrove Mountain is looking to open for a few days in the upcoming school holidays. We understand many families are doing it tough so we'd like to help out by making it as cheap as possible to come out and have some fun. For only $25 per person you can have a go at our Tree Top Challenge course and 3 turns on the 130m Zip Line that goes over our dam. ... For familes (2 adults and 2 children) its $60 for everyone to do the same **Our age recommendation for Challenge Ropes is 10 years + For those who think the Challenge ropes is too adventurous or if you've got someone Aged 6-9 you can just to the Zip Line activity Four times for $15 Activities will be operating on limited days at the moment so it will be important to book in early so you don't miss out. 13.01.2022 CAMPS BRANDED INCORRECTLY On Tuesday, Ms Berejiklian said out-of-school camps and retreats should not be running while the state attempts to quash the contagion.... "Extra-curricular activities, those excursions and overnight things which you would ordinarily do, are not acceptable during a pandemic". Outdoors NSW & ACT is concerned that Ms Berejiklian (Gladys Berejiklian) has singled out camps, even when this transmission occurred in a convention centre, when other outbreaks, at places such as RSLs and cafes, have not been considered 'unacceptable'. Outdoors NSW & ACT is doubly concerned about the continuing impact such statements have on camps and outdoor education and activity providers who continue to suffer financially as a result of now COVID-19, but previously bushfire and bushfire smoke. We welcome the opportunity to present our case to the Premier and the NSW Government in the hope that they better understand the impact of such statements and the difficulties currently facing the $7.7 Billion industry since October 2019. Outdoors NSW & ACT reiterates that we have been working with our industry on COVID Safe plans since May and its not the venue that gives COVID-19 to its attendees, it's through community transmission and the steps we are taking as businesses serve to reduce the risk of this transmission. Outdoors NSW & ACT continues to work with Australian Camps Association - The Great Getaway and the Christian Venues Association to provide resources and assistance for our industry. Camps do not cause COVID-19!

About the role Our Outdoor Activity Instructors are responsible for the delivery and facilitation of outdoor education and recreation programs. Full-time, Part-Time and Casual positions may be available and can be discussed during the interview stage. Work is Monday to Friday with school aged children with minimal weekend work available. What is true is that we have th...e plans, procedures and training in place to make sure that the risks can be addressed properly and comprehensively. And our main message - that if it is OK to return to face to face teaching, it is OK to return to camps - holds! See more

08.01.2022 The team at Outdoor Education NSW continues to keep up their skills while we wait for the NSW Government and the Department of Education to open up Camps for Term 4. Many of these staff didn’t qualify for JobKeeper but understand the importance of refreshing their rescue training in the hope that common sense will prevail and kids are once again allowed to return to the fresh air in the outdoors. 04.01.2022 We've had a few questions about our Adventure Activity days we are running these holidays. 1. We are presently only opening for the 6 days mentioned in the early post (Thursday, Friday and Saturday both weeks of the school holidays). We may have other dates in the future but nothing set in concrete yet. 2. We are offering complete refunds if the weather isn't appropriate on the day you have booked. ... 3. Bookings need to be made in advance to confirm payment is made as there is no facility onsite for walk ins. As staff need to be booked you are also unlikely to get a booking on the same day. Don't be afraid to message at any time of the day and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We are also open to offering different packages to suit other sized families so just ask the question and we will do a quote for you.

We've been working hard during this down time to improve our facilities and also to write a detailed Covid - 19 Return to Camps Safety Policy which will be made avaialble to all our clients. Whilst we are very excited that we will be able to open to the public in the School Holidays we can't wait to have our school groups back at camp.... We are confident with the increasing ease on restrictions that we shouldn't be too far away
