25.01.2022 The natural & safe swimming holes just keep getting better and better!! As do the low cost camps... how’s this beauty right on Bramston Beach?!! When we were here there weren’t any bushfires burning and we topped off our evening with the best beach fire and a few too many ports!!

25.01.2022 Everyone has a dream but not everyone’s dreams are fulfilled. José Paronella’s Dream was to build a castle. He chose a special part of Australia and created Paronella Park. The magical history of Paronella Park has so be seen (with a fabulous tour guide) to be believed. We stayed here and took in everything the place had to offer, did both the day and night tour and were then treated to a performance by the String Family. My Aunt and I took along G&Ts along in keep cups fo...r the night tour which made it even better. In more craziness, the father of the String Family was recovering from an accident where he slipped and fell at the same spot at Josephine Falls where the guy did that we saw that very morning. They were the most beautiful family and there performance just topped off our Paronella stay so perfectly. However, it really also hit home how precious life is and not to be taken for granted and to be careful on sleeper rocks . Paronella Park

25.01.2022 The first time we’ve been able to (safely) swim in the ocean since Cape Range back on the coast of WA!!! And what better place to do it than on a day trip out to Fitzroy Island!! I find it bizarre that you still can’t swim anywhere from the mainland but the crocs apparently don’t come out here. Was certainly nice to have big dose of Vitamin Sea!! Kids loved the big trampoline off the beach too!!

15.01.2022 Pretty stock standard lunch and so self sufficient these days... doesn’t even bother him that we forgot a knife! Was so funny, when we left on the trip, we’d get the kids hot chips as a treat for lunch and now they’re all oh please no more hot chips... I wish we’d tallied the bowls of chips consumed! . .... . . 15.01.2022 They saw us rollin’ We day tripped to Magnetic Island and let me tell you, there’s only one way to explore this island (well, there’s actually loads of options but how could we go past the Topless Car Rentals option). Ofcourse because the cars were pink and blue we had to have a girls and boys car. ... Such an action packed day in this little piece of paradise!!

14.01.2022 So here goes the we’ve finished our lap post that I’ve been meaning to write since Boxing Day. We just had too much fun in our final weeks of the trip and fell slightly behind on our social media updates. I think Facebook still had us back in Far North QLD. We had some epics times on our way down the east coast and maybe I’ll get to putting some more posts together but for now I did want to make a few concluding comments. The first thing I want to say is a big thanks to a...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Mission Beach... a holiday from our holiday!! Such a great place to chill out, coffee dates and sunset bevies. Sadly where we had to farewell cousin Big Tom too

12.01.2022 I’m giving this pic it’s own post because I love it so much!! Tells a thousand words (as does Taj everyday)

09.01.2022 ... followed by afternoon cocktails, fishing and palm tree climbing at Montes! This day will go down as one of the most special on our trip! You wouldn’t think we are a bunch of poor caravanning bums who have just about blown all our cash I will definitely return to this place one day child free and sit on the beach for hours doing absolutely nothing!! Pics completely unedited... look at the colour of that water!!!

06.01.2022 Read to the end of for the craziness that happened here This is Josephine Falls... I’m going to call it as my favourite freshwater swimming hole on the trip!! Despite the crazy things that happened! Although I LOVED all the incredible gorges that we’ve swam in, I really had to push through my fears of deep dark water.... Here, the water is so so clear and a beautiful sandy bottom!! However, when we arrived here, just after we parked in the car park maybe 800m from the swimming hole, every rescue service you could imagine came screaming in. After a pretty horrid skiing accident a few years back, seeing these rescue services always makes me feel super uneasy. Anyways, on this day, someone had slipped on the rocks and had a fall with suspected head and spinal injuries. We met the wife of the guy who had fallen and did what we could to comfort her. They did an amazing job recovering her husband and he was seemingly ok but on a stretcher and sedated. We swam and climbed on the rocks with extreme caution. Now for the part 2 craziness... one of the most epic features of this place is the natural water slide you can see on the left of the rocks. We all had a few slides before Daz popped up from one of them with sh#t my wedding came off. He swam over to where our stuff was piled up, grabbed a pair of goggles went back to the waterfall and on his first dive under, he saw a glistening. In what non of us could believe, it was his ring being washed out of a small crevasse and down a section of rock face under the waterfall!!! Seriously crazy!! A second earlier and he wouldn’t have seen it and a second later and it would have been washed away with the huge body of water! All too much for one day but holy moly this spot was epic and we had the best few hours sliding, swimming and lying on hot rocks!!

04.01.2022 Of all the amazing places we’ve been to on this trip and the natural wonders we’ve experienced, my favourite part of doing the lap has been the friendships we’ve made and beautiful families we’ve met. It’s not only what makes it so much fun but it’s what keeps you sane. It’s also what keeps the kids entertained. We can be at the most extravagant park or giving it our all to keep the kids entertained, but what they really love is their buddies. We haven’t befriended loads a...nd loads of families on the trip, but the ones we have, will be friends for life... especially this crew. We hadn’t seen each other for a few weeks so our adventure to Hydeaway Bay was pretty spesh. (As were the next day’s hangovers). I actually get emo looking at these pics thinking how much I’ll miss these guys next year Can’t cope with the fact that I haven’t edited these photos and their horizons aren’t straight but it will have to do!

04.01.2022 Try and focus on Taj’s epic little natural waterslide on the left, not the girl climbing up the rocks that I accidentally captured . More pics and a crazy little anecdote of this place to follow...

02.01.2022 Although Cairns was a bit of a shock to the system as far as traffic lights and suburbia went, we had THE BEST time with a surprise visit from the grandparents!! My Aunt, Uncle & Cousin also met us here in a little camper van to head head south with us for a bit... stay tuned!
