25.01.2022 On my 30th birthday, I lay in a Melbourne IVF clinic having undergone an ultrasound to check how healthy my ovaries were. I planned to donate my eggs to my sister who had exhausted her IVF options. The last thing I expected to hear was an ovarian cancer diagnosis. Jessamy is one of the amazing people participating in #DryJuly this year to raise funds to support women living with ovarian. If you or a loved one would like to speak to one of our friendly support nurses about your experience with ovarian cancer, please call our Helpline on 1300 660 334 (9am -5pm AEST).

25.01.2022 We're proud to release our 2019/20 Annual Report. We hope you will enjoy learning about the many achievements of the past year, a year like no other, as we work to ensure no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Ovarian Cancer Australia has had an incredible year of achievements. We moved quickly to shift towards the new normal by increasing our telehealth capacity and taking our work, including fundraising onto a digital platform. We were honoured to be awarded the HESTA Nursing and Midwifery Nursing Award for ‘Outstanding Organisation’, a great accolade for our support nurses. We provided our free Resilience Kits to 1,558 women. Thank you, our wonderful community, for your unwavering support. 23.01.2022 Yvette is ALWAYS there to support her family and friends. Unfortunately family members around Australia and the world, could not be there in person for Yvette due to COVID-19 border restrictions. So they decided to show their support by shaving/cutting/colouring their hair as a symbol of her lioness courage and to help her raise awareness. The amazing 'We're hair for Yvette' team has raised over $23,000 to help Ovarian Cancer Australia support women with ovarian cancer. Thank you so much!!! If you'd like to host an ovarian cancer fundraiser see our website for details: https://www.ovariancancer.net.au/page/70/fundraise-for-us

05.01.2022 At just 16, a cancer diagnosis was the last thing on Alannahs mind. She was a happy and healthy Year 10 student when she was diagnosed with ovarian dysgerminoma, a rare type of ovarian cancer. "Our first emotion was disbelief. We have both spent many months off work and school and it had a huge impact on the whole family." Alannah is the bravest young woman I know. We definitely had some struggles but are now looking towards the future. She would like to become a nurse lik...e me," says Alannah's Mum, Kaye. Alannah and Kaye shared their story as part of our #TealTribe series: https://bit.ly/3johRP8 #MoreThanHope

05.01.2022 Amy had been actively raising money for Ovarian Cancer Australia since she was diagnosed 3 years ago. She emailed me a link to participate in #DryJuly and I jumped on it straight away. Id been drinking too much during ISO anyway, and thought it might be a good way to raise some money, support Amy and get a little healthier during a tough time. I asked 5 friends to donate to my Dry July before Monday 1st of June, and explained that if they did, Id start a month early and go... for 2 months. I was overwhelmed by the support of my friends and family and I achieved my $1,000 goal before June 1!! Sadly on that day, I learned the devastating news that Amy had passed away over the weekend. I believe asking her friends to participate in Dry July was her dying wish, and Ill continue to raise money on behalf of Ovarian Cancer Australia for Amy and every woman living with ovarian cancer. I hope it helps to improve their quality of life, and wouldnt it be great if one day there is a cure. My heart goes out to Amys family and loved ones, Im so sorry for their loss. Heath Rowley Heath and his friends have raised more than $22,000 to help support women with ovarian cancer an amazing effort! You can get involved at: https://www.ovariancancer.net.au/dryjuly
