23.01.2022 Yes, the Newtown Wellness Centre Needs YOU! Due to paid work commitments, I will be stepping down from my role as Secretary at the end of January. This means that the NWC urgently needs volunteers to take on some of the tasks to help run the centre and all our classes & activities. If you can spare an hour or 2 a week, please consider volunteering. Contact me here (Direct / Private Message) or by email ([email protected])... or talk to the ladies in the OWN office. See more

20.01.2022 Crafternoon at a safe distance ... Isolating can be a great time for us to catch up on some crafting and making. A time to get some work done on that UFO (unfinished object) or PHD (project half done). Or perhaps you want to start learning a new craft ... Making, crafting, stitching ... they are great methods of 'mindful meditation' ... a lovely (and productive) way to keep calm at this time of high anxiety. SO ... I'm setting this up as a place where we can all support each ...other in our creative endeavours. We can show-off the things we are making or have made and - if needed, I'll be here if you have any crafting questions or problems. This is for everyone - not just for people who might have come to a Crafternoon. At this highly stressful time we need to help and support each other - and will we get through this together. SO ... please join in by "commenting" below with photos and words about your project or to support a fellow crafty person See more
18.01.2022 Apparently it is Spin in Public Day today ... Should I bring my spinning wheel to Crafternoon? Or perhaps they mean the sort of spinning around that Kylie Minogue did in very small gold shorts ...

17.01.2022 Crafternoon at a Safe Distance ... I'm going to do a weekly re-posting for our Crafternoon at a Safe Distance ... And yes, that's me wearing one ... I've egg on my face yet again! I'm wearing one of these masks whenever I venture out to go shopping - and when I get home, the mask and all the clothes I was wearing go into the washing machine and I have shower. Can't be too careful. If you wan't to make some fabric masks yourself ... you can scroll down the page to the previous Crafternoon post - and in the "comments" there are some rough guidelines / instructions.
