23.01.2022 I'm back in P1HQ .... haven't been here for quite a long while. It worked for me last time. I got to a place that I never realised I could get to. Back then, I changed how I looked and dressed. ... So now I've changed again. Radically this time! Because what I'm planning is so far outside my comfort zone that I need to be a different person to the one I am right now. I don't feel brave or courageous. I'm frankly terrified if I stop to analyse it. However, I'm SURE. Many others have gone before me and achieved. They've laid the path. All I have to do is the same as they did. Today is prep day .... 06.01.2022 You can have dreams..... they usually stay in your head and perhaps make you smile when you think of them.... You can have goals.... most often with a time-frame.... like getting your first car, or home, or going on a holiday somewhere special... lovely to achieve. (Have you ever?) And then there are some people with a MISSION in life. It's often lofty, outside of themselves and their needs... like my son who's a Dr of Science - he spends his days researching the links betwee...n heart disease and diabetes. Isn't that just a job? Not in his case.... it's a mission. Some people want to end poverty or hunger or wars... very lofty goals (shame those people aren't in politics).... Big Announcement - Today is the first day of my 90 days of intensive work. And I also have a mission. On Monday I heard the incredible statistic that 1 in every 3 women over 60 in Australia live below the poverty line. (perhaps repeat that aloud) Stunned me. That could be me. Isn't this the Lucky Country? No... not for women who've halted or stalled their careers/jobs to have a family.... not for women who never got paid the same as men and especially not for women who don't have superannuation or savings because of all the above. These women are mostly divorced or single and they have little to no chance of changing that statistic of living below the poverty line. Ever. This was my mother, this is a friend, this is a colleague from the TV years.... So this is my mission. To find and help as many of these women as possible to become financially stable and independent of the Govt age pension. How many could that be? I'm hoping at least one a week for the next 4 months..... and then ongoing. Do you know a woman in this situation? Do you know a woman who could possibly end up in this situation? Let's dig the well before the water runs dry. I'd love to meet you.... or your friend/s..... I'm happy to help anyone escape a life of living below the poverty line - of course!!!! But I'm focusing on women over 60. Women like me. Who haven't found the hope or the track to run on to get out of that life. Only if they want. Of course. And here starts my mission. Day 1 See more
