24.01.2022 Tomorrow (Sunday 15th Nov) is the first day this season that the fire danger rating has moved off Low/Moderate (Green) to High (Blue) for our Central fire distr...ict. It is also a day of total fire ban in the Mallee fire district. This is your cue to tell you that summer and fire restrictions aren't too far away and if you haven't already, its time to prepare your property. The fire danger rating will fluctuate throughout summer pending the relevant conditions in each fire district. Residents living in high risk areas should be aware of the daily rating in their area and it should also form part of their overall fire plan and be a trigger for decision making. You can check the daily fire danger rating on our Facebook page under the Fire Danger Ratings tab or on the CFA webpage here; https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/warnings-r/central-fire-district

21.01.2022 Lately we have been called to several fires where burn piles have not been fully extinguished even though they were no longer "burning". Extreme wind can reignite fires that my appear to have been extinguished. If you have been burning off within the last week please check to make sure you have fully extinguished the burn pile.

19.01.2022 Don’t forget the free green waste drop off this weekend!

18.01.2022 As summer approaches, now is the time to prepare and #getFireReady. Be sure to download the Vic Emergency App on your smart phone or tablet to have all the late...st warnings and incident information at your fingertips. This is an essential tool for those living in high risk areas. The app can be tailored to create watch zones relevant to your home location and other places you frequently visit. 1. Download the Vic Emergency App from the App store or Play Store 2. Create a login and password 3. Login and set up a new watch zone 4. Either use your exact residential address or just type Beaconsfield Upper as the origin of the watch zone 5. Choose a watch radius for receiving notifications. We recommend a minimum of 5km but 10km is probably better. Remember the larger your radius, the more notifications it will pick up in that search area (even those outside of Upper Beac) and the more notice you may have of any impending incident or occurring event. 6. Hit the next button and give your new watch zone a relevant name (you can have multiple watch zones in different locations if you like) 7. Scroll down to the incidents heading and under the Fire Tab, we recommend that you turn on the All fire Incidents tab as a minimum. 8. Customise and choose which other categories/notifications you wish to receive (as a general rule we don’t get too many shark sightings or tsunamis in Upper Beac so you can probably leave those ones turned off ) 9. If you find you are receiving too many or not enough notifications you can increase/decrease your watch radius or turn on/off some of the incident notifications Don't hesitate to contact us at the brigade if you need assistance. Stay Safe
