25.01.2022 Nurses and midwives were here for NSW through fire, drought and pandemic. But when they needed the Berejiklian Government to be there for them, the Government decided to freeze their hard-earned wages.

25.01.2022 BREAKING: UNION WIN The NSW Upper House has voted down Premier Berejiklians cruel wage freeze for nurses and midwives. This would not have been possible withou...t the incredible efforts of NSWNMA members. From sending thousands of emails to politicians, to sharing social media posts and 60 branches protesting the freeze across the state. Your activism has delivered this incredible outcome. Well done.

24.01.2022 Ain't nothin' scarier than 2020 has been! Happy Halloween everyone!

23.01.2022 "In 2020, we marked one of the most difficult years for our profession" NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association General Secretary Brett Holmes shares his thanks for the tireless commitment of members through what has been a challenging year.

22.01.2022 This is the document that Premier Berejiklian has been trying to hide. It wasn't something that the Premier volunteered to show the NSW public - it had to be obtained using the Government Information (Public Access) Act. It shows that BACK IN APRIL, Premier Berejiklian and her cabinet were advised BY HER OWN DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY that "reducing public sector wage growth would deepen the recession.... This is the department whose role it is to advise the Premier and cabinet on how to run the state's economy - and even they're saying that the wage freeze against nurses and midwives is a bad idea. Premier, stop playing games with nurses and midwives. Stop the cruelty against frontline workers. Premier, STOP THE WAGE FREEZE. It's clearly the right thing to do.

22.01.2022 Nurses and midwives have been hit hard by the health and economic effects of COVID-19. Premier Berejiklian's wage freezes are a simply cruel and ill-conceived at this time.

20.01.2022 "You hope you never have to use it, but it's always there behind you to back you up". Nurse Chris was involved in a motorcycle accident on the way to work, and had to have his leg amputated. Thankfully, he was an NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association member, and thanks to our Journey Accident Insurance, he was able to recoup $100,000 to assist with his recovery. It's so important to be a member of your association You can join here today: https://www.nswnma.asn.au/nswnmamembers/benefits/

19.01.2022 Your support will make sure nurse-to-patient ratios will be debate in NSW Parliament. Our nurses and midwives deserve at least that much. Will you support our healthcare heroes by signing our ePetition today: http://bit.ly/ratiospetition

18.01.2022 In the midst of a pandemic, Premier Berejiklian is moving to freeze the wage of hard working nurses and midwives. It wil stunt our state's recovery and hurt local communities across NSW! Tell your local Member of Parliament that this cruel attack on nurses and midwives is simply unacceptable: http://stopthewagefreeze.com.au/

17.01.2022 We've been fighting to make sure fit testing is undertaken for all health workers who wear P2/N95 masks. We now have official acknowledgement from the Clinical... Excellence Commission (CEC) that fit testing should be required in all NSW Local Health Districts for nurses working in high risk areas or performing certain procedures on patients with COVID-19! Remember, we're stronger together. Make sure you join your union today: http://bit.ly/joinnswnma

17.01.2022 SHOWDOWN SET FOR INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COMMISSION After their defeat in the NSW Upper House yesterday, the Berejiklian Government has decided to pursue their cru...el wage freeze policy in the IRC FROM TOMORROW. This Government continues to insult, blackmail and threaten nurses and midwives. But were not backing down from the fight to defeat this unfair wage freeze.

16.01.2022 THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. This is another attack on frontline health workers from a Government that clearly doesn't value the contributions of nurses and midwives thr...ough this pandemic. Gladys Berejiklian needs to back away from this cruel policy of cutting our pay. It's not fair - and not good enough.

14.01.2022 Freezing the wages of nurses and midwives in the middle of the greatest pandemic in a century just isnt cool. Let our politicians know what you think of this proposal: https://nswnma.good.do/stopthewagefreeze/emailnswuh/

09.01.2022 YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! Our healthcare workers deserve better than the Berejiklian Governments insulting wage freeze.

09.01.2022 RNSH NSWNMA meeting this afternoon - 1400 in Norman Nock, level 5 Kolling building. Agenda: afternoon shift parking & wages freeze update Zoom also available - link in SMS sent to members this morning... Hope to see you there!

09.01.2022 RNSH Parking Refund Thanks to NSWNMA action, parking refunds are now available for staff who paid for parking between 6 -20 April (as payroll deductions for parking ceased, but all other staff were still paying). Apply through the intranet. Capacity Issues... NSWNMA is engaging with RNSH Management who are working to improve the capacity issues due to the free parking - a decision was made not to quarantine spots for the PM staff, however additional parking capacity has been made available in Home HQ (shopping centre down the road). This is for identified staff only (currently for administration staff) and hopefully will free up space in P1 and P2. There have also been discussions with Willoughby Council regarding access to street parking but this is yet to result in any changes. NSWNMA continue to argue that parking fines should not be given to hospital staff on the RNSH campus during this time however we are yet to achieve a ban on parking fines. If you have any further suggestions to improve the parking situation at RNSH, please comment below.

08.01.2022 Independent economic analysis has shown that Premier Berejiklian's cruel wage freeze won't just last a year - it will have over $50K worth of impacts for the average nurse or midwife over 20 years.

08.01.2022 Nurses and midwives have seen the worst of violence and PPE issues this past year. We'll continue to work hard to ensure your safety - both in and outside of work.

08.01.2022 This is what a one-year wage freeze looks like for nurses and midwives. The current plan extends from now until January 2024, so Id hate to see what this lo...oks like compounded. #nursing #MoreNurses #StopTheWageFreeze #nswpol #ThisNursingLife #wagefreeze #COVID19 #COVID19Aus #nurses #midwives

08.01.2022 Across the state, nurses and midwives joined celebrities and organisations to ensure that we can #EndCOVIDForAll. Because as health professionals and advocates, we know that this pandemic isn't over until it's over for all of us. See if you can find yourself in the wrap up video!

05.01.2022 Apparently, it's ok for the Premier to dole out massive pay rises to her mates, while nurses and midwives miss out on what we deserve. To top it off, it's apparently ok because it's "only for 12 months", not considering the long term impacts on our incomes, super, families and communities. Tell the Premier she's out of touch: www.stopthewagefreeze.com.au

05.01.2022 RNSH Branch was represented today at the rally at Parliament House. Fantastic result!!

05.01.2022 According to a study by the Centre for Future Work, Premier Berejiklian's proposed wage freeze against nurses and midwives will have sweeping effects on our local economies and communities. It's a freeze that NSW can't afford! Stand against the Berejiklian Government's cruel wage freeze today: www.stopthewagefreeze.com.au

05.01.2022 Government inaction and the lack of PPE has made nursing one of the most dangerous professions in the world through COVID-19, with more than 600 of our colleagues succumbing to the disease.

02.01.2022 Through COVID-19, your NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association has been busy delivering accurate, up to date information for our members across the state, in all sectors.

02.01.2022 It could be a medical first - building a new hospital ward, and one that doctors hope they'll never need to use. But that's exactly what's happened at Royal Nor...th Shore Hospital, where a dedicated COVID-19 recovery unit has just opened. www.7NEWS.com.au #Coronavirus #7NEWS
