16.01.2022 Wednesday night Division 1 Grand Final was played between rivals Different Strokes and Pack'n Tight. Packers got the job done for Bert - playing in his 'retirement' grand final. 178 to 120... Bert although older showing he was still a greyhound between the wickets. This is no photographic evidence of this historic win, however it has been entered into the history books as a bit of a touch up. See you all next week boys.

14.01.2022 A new COVID-Safe Check-In system is being introduced across the Territory today that requires customers and visitors to provide their contact details upon entry... to a range of venues if spending more than 15 minutes there. This is to assist our health teams to quickly act and undertake contact tracing if required. Customers can check-in using an electronic QR Code or a manual pen and paper system. A new app will soon be available for customers and visitors to sign into businesses and venues. The Territory Check In app provides a contactless, secure and easy way for individuals to self-check-in and have this data stored securely by NT Health for 28 days. The Territory Check In app is currently available from the Google Play Store and will be available from the Apple App Store in the coming days. Apple is currently experiencing delays due to high demand and a backlog of requests over the Thanksgiving holiday. Businesses are encouraged to also have an alternative check in method available for customers unable to use a QR Code. A paper based template is available for download at https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au//safety-supervisors-and-cont

09.01.2022 Australian Masters Championships Postponed http://www.indoor.cricket.com.au/pageitem.aspx The Australian Masters Championships set for May will be postponed until late August, due to the ongoing travel restrictions created by the coronavirus pandemic.... The indoor cricket championships were to have been staged at the Palmerston Indoor Sports Centre in Darwin from May 22-29, and now be held from August 28 to September 4. The decision to postpone the Australian Masters Championships was based on current travel restrictions and quarantine requirements that created uncertainty about coordinating the national event. While disappointed by the delay, Cricket Australia remains committed to the Australian Masters Championship and is hopeful the delay will allow the tournament to proceed without any limitations. With many teams already selected for the 2021 championships, the age criteria will remain with May 29 the cut off for the various divisions 30-and-over women, 35-and-over men, 40-and-over men, 45-and-over men and 50-and-over men. Cricket Australia are committed to supporting those teams and players inconvenienced by the delay. Cricket Australia Interim Executive General Manager Community Cricket, Stuart Whiley said: Given the amount of hard work and planning already invested by the competition organisers and competitors, it is disappointing the Australian Masters Championship could not proceed as scheduled. We’re grateful to be able to reschedule the event immediately and look forward to staging a successful Australian Masters Championship in August/September. Unfortunately, there is a lot uncertainty around COVID-19 restrictions, particularly around travel requirements and border closures, which limits our ability to guarantee that all our teams can compete. It is particularly tough for non-professional players to be away from work or friends longer than initially planned, and the health and wellbeing of our participants is our number one priority. The tournament remains a vitally important part of our representative cricket calendar and every effort will be made to ensure it is contested later in the year. We would like to thank the tournament organisers, State and Territory Associations, indoor sports bodies and participants for both their hard work to date and their understanding, Whiley said.
