24.01.2022 PAMBULA BLUEDOGS AGM WED. 19TH AUG. TOP PUB 6:30PM Hi all, the Pambula Bluedogs Cricket Clubs AGM has been set for Wednesday 19th August at the Top Pub Pambula starting at 6:30pm. We would love to have all current committee members, senior captains & junior coaches able to attend, as well as any members of the cricket club who may be interested in having an input with the direction of the club for the 2020-21 season, BUT with coronavirus restrictions limited to a group of 1...0 people, we will be seeking last seasons committees attendance to start with. If we cant get 10 people, well ask for others to attend. Another possibility would be to hold a Video Conference meeting using Zoom. That way, we could have more than 10 people for the meeting, with the advantage of staying at home, yet able to contribute. A decision will be made leading up to the meeting, as to whether we go to the Pub or use Zoom.. If anyone has an item for the AGM Agenda, could you please email it to me by Wed.12th Aug. with details and it will be added. A copy of the AGMs agenda and last years minutes will be attached in a later email. Cheers - Dave Smith PCC Secretary

23.01.2022 PAMBULA AWARDED JOINT PREMIERSHIP WITH TATHRA Last Monday evening the FSCCAs AGM was held by video conference. One item on the agenda was Pambula CCs appeal against the decision to award the premiership to the Minor Premiers Tathra, once the Final was abandoned back in March. As you might remember, our 1st Division team defeated the Minor Premiers, Tathra in the Major Semi-Final and was awarded the home ground advantage for the Final on March 21st. We also presumed that we... would become the top ranked team for the Final. Covid-19 prevented the Final from being played due to a recommendation from Cricket NSW & Cricket Australia, so with the Final being abandoned, Tathra was declared the Premiers. Our club felt that this decision was not justified and appealed, but had to wait until last Monday night to put forward our case. At the start of the season, a new 3 week Finals Format was agreed to be played, but unfortunately at the time, the rules were not fully adjusted nor clarified to detail all outcomes. Once the Final was abandoned, an old By Law rule from the old Finals format was implemented, which declared that "if the Final was a tie/draw/washout or abandoned, then the Minor Premiers would be Premiers." Our club did not agree with this ruling, so our case was presented to the meeting and after strong debate from all angles, a motion was put forward that both clubs be declared Joint Premiers. The motion was voted on and successfully carried. This decision seemed a fair outcome, especially after the season was impacted with Bushfires & Coronavirus. Our club would like to thank the FSCCA Executive & the club reps for determining an unprecedented result to both Tathra & Pambula Cricket Clubs. So, its a massive congratulations to our 1st Division team for being rewarded for their success throughout the season and making the Final for the first time in 19 years. Well done to captain Sean Smith & all cricketers who contributed in the top grade.

Canteen will be running all day serving snacks, bbq and cold drinks and beers Thanks to clubs from Bega, Eden, Pambula and Merimbula for sending through player nominations for the Community Cricket Day out at Lords View Oval, but as the date has changed just would like to see if these people are still available on the day, plus looking to fill the last few remaining spots so we can finish off planning, for what will be a great event for the community. I will need Shirt sizes from all and players will need to please bring along $20 to help subside the cost of a shirt and hat which players will keep (as we have lost some community funding), below is the list of players, would be great to see all teams from the Association nominate players, these players can be those who were fire affected from this years fires or players that are community minded like volunteers from the RFS, charity organisations through to club volunteers like scorers and the bbq cooks, anyone who loves to put into the game for the game. We would also open the invite to any old statesman of the game to come out and umpire a few overs and we may have a Former Umpire to assist. I am yet to receive any Womens team nominations, so please forward any names through also.

19.01.2022 BLUEDOGS 2ND DIVISION WIN ONE DAY FINAL. Pambula Bluedogs 2nd Division team had a well deserved victory over Tathra on Saturday to win the One Day Final in a gripping arm wrestle at Pambula Rec. ground. Tathra totalled 143 from 38 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. An early run out then excellent catch from Flynn Cook put Tathra on the back foot and by the 14th over they were reeling at 4 for 33.... To their credit, the Tathra batsmen started to build momentum with their innings, but another run out, this time from Nick Tondering found Perea short of his ground for 26. Soon after Flynn Cook bowled Fletcher-Barrie on 23 with a jaffa to rock Tathra again at 6 for 96. Tathra captain John Chandler & P Hutley took control scoring freely, but once again the younger Bluedog attack stepped up when needed with Trai Beasley bowling Hutley for 12, then Harry McAlpin had Chandler well caught at cover by Bailey Palacios for 22. Tathra soon after all out for 143. In a real team effort, wickets were shared around with skipper McAlpin taking 3/26, Trai Beasley 2/21, Lochlan Ferguson 1/13, Flynn Cook 1/13 and Nick Tondering 1/24. Undefeated throughout the one day series, Pambula went out to bat and heads dropped when Harry McAlpin was caught off the second ball for a duck. He was given a "warm" send off by the Tathra team knowing that they'd gotten rid of the 2nd Division top run scorer in two balls. Tight bowling and cautious batting found runs hard to come by, but Rory McAlpin & Taz Penukonda were up for the challenge. In the 15th over at 1 for 40, Rory was unlucky to be given out caught behind down leg for a well fought 20. Flynn Cook was out caught for 4, two overs later and the game was evenly poised going into the 20th over drinks break with the Doggies at 3 for 59. Once play resumed Taz continued his role as the anchor encouraging young gun Kynan Baker to stay with him, but also to play his natural game. Together, they cautiously ticked off the runs, until in the 28th over, Baker exploded with double sixes in a row off Chandler to declare his intentions for victory. This broke Tathra's spirit and apart from a couple of "hearts in the mouth" hacks from Baker, our two heroes led the team to victory in the 35th over, both undefeated with match winner Kynan on 64no and Taz batting the innings with 34no. Congratulations to both teams for a worthy Final between the top two teams and also to umpire Tom Otton for an outstanding job. The crowd who came along to watch were kept on the edge of their seats with a see-sawing game that could have gone either way, but for the determination of the younger Bluedogs, who wanted to prove that they deserved to be the top team.

The Sth Euro team went into Sundays decider unbeaten for 2 seasons as they were undefeated premiers in last seasons Northern Zone U/12 comp. ... The GF was a fitting clash between the Northern & Southern 2018-19 Premiers and it did not disappoint. Congratulations to coach Tim Wilson and assistant coaches Chris Bennett & Gary Cook and especially to all 11 team members for their sensational season. 13.01.2022 BLUEDOGS PRESENTATIONS DEFERRED FOR THE TIME BEING. Hi all, our club executive had a meeting on Wednesday night to discuss a few issues. One of them was whether we have our Presentations with the current policies in place due to COVID-19. With our presentations being held on 27th March (Seniors) & 5th April (Juniors), we feel that the impact of COVID-19 could be far more widespread as predicted and it would be irresponsible to continue as planned.... It was decided that the club would defer both the Senior & Junior Presentations until a date applicable later in the year, hoping that everything settles down and gets back to normality. For those of you who were looking forward to these award presentations, we apologise, but your personal safety is paramount. Best regards - Dave.

10.01.2022 FSCCA CRICKET GRAND FINALS CANCELLED On Wednesday 18th March, Cricket Australia put out a statement recommending that all cricket associations across Australia make a decision to immediately cease playing any remaining cricket games in their competition due to COVID-19 risks. This directive has affected many cricket clubs across the country, who were preparing for either a semi-final, final or grand final this weekend.... Unfortunately, our Bluedogs 1st Division team was to play Tathra in the Grand Final at the Pambula Sporting Complex tomorrow afternoon, which has now been cancelled. The decision as to who wins the 1st Division Premiership has yet to be decided and a special general meeting of the FSCCA will be held at some stage this year to determine the outcome. The Womens Grand Final between Sth Euro & Tathra was obviously also cancelled.

Our club would like to thank the FSCCA Executive & the club reps for determining an unprecedented result to both Tathra & Pambula Cricket Clubs. So, it's a massive congratulations to our 1st Division team for being rewarded for their success throughout the season and making the Final for the first time in 19 years. Well done to captain Sean Smith & all cricketers who contributed in the top grade.

07.01.2022 BLUEDOGS UNDER 13's WIN GRAND FINAL THRILLER. Pambula's U/13's made it back to back premierships with a thrilling 2 wicket victory over Sth Eurobodalla in their Grand Final at Dalmeny last Sunday morning. The Sth Euro team went into Sunday's decider unbeaten for 2 seasons as they were undefeated premiers in last season's Northern Zone U/12 comp. ... The GF was a fitting clash between the Northern & Southern 2018-19 Premiers and it did not disappoint. Congratulations to coach Tim Wilson and assistant coaches Chris Bennett & Gary Cook and especially to all 11 team members for their sensational season. FSCCA U/13 GRAND FINAL: PAMBULA v SOUTHERN EUROBODALLA at Dalmeny Oval Sun. 15th March. Our Blue Heelers Ladies team fell one game short of making the Grand Final in their inaugural season after we were beaten by Tathra on Sunday. Our gals gave 100% in every game during the shortened competition and they should be extremely proud of their performances. Captain Jasmine Lefel Horton did a wonderful job leading the team for us to finish equal first on points at the end of the competition rounds. We look forward to next season being a longer and well structured competition. FSCCA WOMEN'S PRELIMINARY FINAL: PAMBULA v TATHRA at Pambula Sporting Complex Sun. 15th March. 05.01.2022 BLUEDOGS MAJOR RAFFLE 2020-21 SEASON Hi all, for those of you who don't know, last season our club had organised a Major Raffle with lots of great prizes. We'd handed out raffle books to all our senior cricketers before Christmas and were planning on distributing a book to each of our junior cricketers after Christmas. The raffle prizes were to be drawn at our Senior Presentation in April. Due to the impact of the bushfires affecting our community & businesses, we decided to ...postpone the raffle until this season. Our decision was well justified once Covid hit. Our plan is to start again with our Major Raffle for this 2020-21 cricket season, handing out one book of 20 tickets to each cricketer in our club to sell at $2 per ticket or 3 for $5. These will be handed out over the coming weeks prior to Christmas. We aim to sell as many books of tickets as possible over the summer period and draw the prizes at our Senior Presentation night in April 2021. The new tickets have not been printed up as yet and I am asking anyone within our club who has a business or knows someone with a business who would like to donate a prize to the raffle, to please contact me by Email or Facebook Messenger or Phone 0429474653 over the next few days this week. The donation could be a Voucher or stock item from your shop for example. Once we have added any further prize donations, a full list of prizes & their donors will be advertised by email as well as on Facebook. I've collected all raffle tickets that were sold last season and anyone who bought tickets, will be getting written up on tickets for this raffle. Best regards Dave Smith PCC Secretary

04.01.2022 PAMBULA BLUEDOGS JUNIOR CRICKET NEWS Hi all, here's a run down of where we're at with our junior teams and important info regarding training and competition starting dates. U/11's: ... # At the moment we have 4 registered players and No coach. Andrew Wright handed out close to 40 flyers to the kids at PPS in the last week of school seeking interested cricketers. From those we have had two new registrations so far. # To be able to enter a team we'll need a minimum of 8 cricketers and a coach. A couple of the parents may be interested in doing the coaching, but on game day we'll need the coach and a scorer available. The FSCCA will be asking for junior team nominations soon, so our club needs to be organised with team numbers and a coach. If you can assist with coaching and scoring at games, please contact me asap. # The competition starts on Fri.6th Nov. with games every Friday afternoon from 4:30pm (unless playing away Sth Eurobodalla or Bermagui where they'll be on a Sat. morning). # Training for the U/11's will start on Wed.14th Oct. at the Pambula Recreation ground from 4:15pm. U/13's: # The U/13's team has 12 cricketers already registered and is at full capacity. # We have last season's coaches Tim Wilson & Chris Bennett on board again, thankfully. # The competition starts on Sat.31st Oct. with games every Sat. morning. # Training for the U/13's will start on Wed.14th Oct. at the Pambula Recreation ground from 4:15pm. For any questions or further information, please contact Secretary Dave Smith on 0429474653 or message me on this FB page.

02.01.2022 BLUEDOGS WORKING BEE THIS SUNDAY 10AM AT PAMBULA REC. GROUND. Hi all, our committee has planned a WORKING BEE at Pambula Rec ground this Sunday starting at 10am. The working bee weve planned involves pulling down the cricket netting and wiring on the cricket nets at the Rec. ground. With the aid of welders Sean Smith & Gary Cook, we were hoping to weld extension poles to increase the height of the 3 practice nets.... Once thats completed the plan will be to secure new wiring around the nets to then set up the brand new netting that we have received from a cricket grant that Jason Harley applied for 18 months ago. To find out who would be 100% certain that they will be available to assist this Sunday, please message or email me back ASAP, so we can determine whether or not well have enough workers to get this done. Well need a few ladders & appropriate tools to take down the netting. I realise that it may be a busy time for many people, but if you could provide a couple of hours this Sunday, it would be most appreciated. Cheers - Secretary Dave.
