Imagine the possibilities of practising virtually to repair expensive machines like aircraft engines, becoming familiar with dangerous locations like mineshafts, or visualising life-size architectural designs. The new version brings some key improvements over the first generation. It can recognise hands and create fully articulated representations of them in the 3D virtual world. Compared to the last generation, it is much more comfortable to wear, with the front being made of carbon fibre. The headset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 chipset and will be set you back an estimated US$3500, although you can only pre-order it at the moment.
