25.01.2022 National Child Protection week 6-12th September 2020 Putting Children First At Papilio Early Learning St Kilda, putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and have access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put childrens needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week

11.01.2022 Our Preschool children explored different ways to mix colours together, encouraging children to investigate and observe chemical reactions using milk, soap and food colouring. Children at this developmental stage thrive on experimentation and discovery. Our child-led approach here at Papilio Early Learning, St Kilda means that our little investigators are encouraged to ask questions, explore independently and review results to make conclusions. We have loved being part of National Science Week - and cant wait to continue our learning of these concepts in the months ahead.

10.01.2022 The busy season is coming! Book your casual days in advance up until the end of January 2021. Book via the KindyNow app, or in-centre.

09.01.2022 Putting children first was front of mind when National Child Protection Week was first launched 30 years ago, and it remains as important today. Our centre is proud to operate under the same mantra, with childrens wellbeing and safety always being priority. https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-get-involved/

06.01.2022 This weekend, we wish all the Fathers and Father figures in our lives a wonderful day of celebration and love! Happy Fathers Day!

06.01.2022 Little people...big emotions! One of the benefits of attending early education and care is the opportunity it provides for children to learn to self-regulate. What is self regulation? Self-regulation is learning about your own feelings and emotions, understanding how and why they happen, recognising them (and those of others), and developing effective ways of managing them. When children and young people learn to self-manage their emotions, they feel more confident, capable and in control. They have stronger relationships, are more able to pay attention, learn new things and can cope better with the normal stresses and disappointments of daily life. The below article from BeYou gives tips on how you can support self regulation development for your child. https://beyou.edu.au//social-and-emotional/self-regulation

06.01.2022 Our cook, Kammy, is working hard behind the scenes to provide us with healthy and delicious meals! Today, we are having some freshly made herb and cheese damper! #healthyfood #healthychildren #lifelonglearning #papiliostkilda #papilioearlylearningstkildaeast #affinityeducationgroup

06.01.2022 When you walk out to discover your Kinder children have decided to create a forest by planting every single thing they could find in the sandpit! This not only gave us a smile but this type of play also links with Steiner’s theories. He believes that children need free, creative play to develop their spirit, bodies and minds. We are there for it! #lifelonglearning

05.01.2022 There is no written language for Aboriginal Australians to communicate cultural stories, this is why symbols and icons through artwork is so important. 04.01.2022 We are very proud of our Funded Kindergarten Program here at Papilio Early Learning St Kilda. This program provides foundational learning for children and the confidence to take on big school! Our Kinder Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) has adapted to current circumstances by organising a virtual Kinder Information Session by sharing a voiceover PowerPoint presentation to families to view in their own time. Additionally, we have also planned Kinder Parent-teacher Interviews via... Zoom meetings with families to further discuss childrens development and strategies to support their transition to school next year. This year, we have experienced unprecedented interruption to our Kinder Program. We understand this could be cause for concern for some parents but want to reassure you that our priority is ensuring that all children will maintain their School Readiness journey.
