25.01.2022 Courtesy of Asthma Australia COVID-19 - WHAT IT MEANS FOR PEOPLE WITH ASTHMA There is no specific data as yet to determine if asthmatics are at a higher risk of contracting the virus.... However, a common trigger for worsening asthma symptoms for asthma flare-ups or asthma attacks is respiratory infections such as colds and viruses. COVID-19 is a respiratory virus. From the information gathered so far, people with a chronic medical condition like asthma may be at more risk of a serious Coronavirus infection compared to those without chronic medical conditions. The primary point is to do what you can, as usual, to avoid cold and flu: * pay close attention to personal hygiene, * wash hands regularly, * avoid close contact with people with symptoms and * obtain a flu vaccination as soon as possible. When it comes to managing your asthma, here is a checklist you can follow: * Ensure you are on a preventer, taking it as prescribed and have a written Asthma Action Plan. You can go back to your GP at any time if you think your medication needs adjusting or if you dont have a written Asthma Action Plan. You might like to ask your medical practice if they provide telephone or telehealth consultations * Ensure you always have access to a reliever puffer (such as Asmol or Ventolin) * Ensure you can identify asthma symptoms and can treat them properly; do you know asthma first aid? * Ensure you understand what your asthma triggers are and how to manage these (it will help to have a written Asthma Action Plan). * If you have allergies such as hay fever, ensure you are treating them * Tell your family and friends you have asthma and make sure they also know asthma first aid and your triggers Our pharmacy currently has stocks of Asmol puffers as well as the 2020 flu vaccine. Come in and see our wonderful pharmacy staff to discuss your health needs.

12.01.2022 Winter is a time when we have to be even more aware of our hand-hygeine practices, especially with all the colds, flu and covid19 risks still around. We have plenty of stock of hand-sanitisers currently in store. Medi-SOL is an Australian made product available in 60ml and 250ml sizes.

12.01.2022 Our Pharmacy will continue to be OPEN throughout this Covid lockdown period, as we are an essential service. Firstly we would like to thank ALL our customers for their continued patience and understanding. Prescription dispensing waiting-times may have become a little longer, but we are doing our best to minimise any inconvenience whilst still ensuring we continue to provide our best care for your health and safety. Our phones are also running hot, so please be patient if you... are unable to get through on your first attempt. We have many options available to our customers as an alternative to coming physically into our store: 1) Prescriptions can be left with us in-store, so that you can ring us when you require any medication. This way they will be ready for you to collect. Alternatively we provide a free delivery service (local area). 2) We also have a Script Reminder Service and Mobile App so that communications can be automatically set up through your mobile, organising which scripts you need and letting you know when they are ready to pickup or be delivered. 3) We can organise for you to remain in your car in the car-park out the front of our store. You can then ring us and we will come out to you to collect and return prescriptions to you. 4) We provide a Webster Medication Service, where we can pack your medication weekly into a bister-pack and have it ready to be collected or delivered, saving you the hassle of having to worry about what to take and when. If you feel you would still rather personally come into our store (you are most welcome to and we look forward to seeing your wonderful faces) then we ask the following: 1) Only enter if you are feeling well. 2) Try to limit entry to ONE person per household. 3) We encourage customers to wear face masks whilst in the store. 4) Make use of the hand sanitisation stations set up in the store. 5) Maintain physical distancing. It may even be better to drop off your prescriptions and not stay in-store but perhaps wait in your car for the waiting period. 6) We encourage customers not to request multiple quantities of the same medications, as this sort of practice is what leads to shortages in supply. 7) We encourage people NOT to leave re-filling of their medication to when they have run out, as if we do not have it in stock it may take a day or two to get back in. We will get through this as long as we support and respect each other.
