11.01.2022 Had a great conversation today with a supporter of same sex marriage, we didn't change each other's mind but it was good to understand their case better and share mine. As a Christian I am keen to follow the teaching of Jesus who gives me a tension to live in- on the one hand love all people and seek their well being, on the other uphold marriage as Jesus upheld it- as between 1 man and 1 woman. Having said that, I understand we all come at this question from different angles... and I respect those other views. For those who haven't voted yet, can I recommend this website? https://marriagevote2017.wordpress.com/ It seeks to take strong arguments from both sides of the debate seriously and doesn't just rely on slogans. Some of us know our own mind on this issue really clearly, that's great and I guess those people have already voted. But for those who are genuinely wrestling with how to vote, or whether to vote at all, I think this could be really helpful.
