22.01.2022 Paramount Physiotherapy Has Rebranded! Tara and I decided that since first opening the clinic in 2017, the clinic has evolved and we want our logo to represent us and our team. We have slowly grown an amazing team who cover a range of clinical conditions with a variety of skills and modalities. So, it was fitting to move towards a more professional design that encapsulates all of what Paramount offers. You'll notice the colour change, but what does our logo mean? The Meanin...g Behind Our New Logo Double P: Representing our name "Paramount Physiotherapy" // : There is a double meaning for the forward slashes. 1. It firstly represents the different services that we offer at Paramount, so the forward slash can be used as an "and"/"or". 2. Secondly it can mean "in combination" and shows how we at Paramount work together as a team, across our services to get the best result for clients and progress towards your goals. Let us know what you think

15.01.2022 BACK STRENGTH Finding your back getting tired when sitting in front of the computer all day? Try this simple back extension exercise to help strengthen the muscles of your back! ... We're hearing a lot of people say that they spend most of their day doing things forward of their body. This exercise will help open you up to sit stronger. Lie on your stomach & place your hands underneath your forehead. Allow the initiation of the movement to come by squeezing your shoulder blades gently together. Then, ensuring you are keeping your hip bones on the floor, gently lift your chest off the floor, with your elbows following the movement. Activating the muscles of your back. Be sure not to strain your neck, by keeping your eye gaze at a 45 degree to the floor. Keep the movement slow and controlled, with the breath even. Start with a second hold at the top and then as you feel stronger you can increase these holds. Do 12-15 reps, 3-4 times per week. See more

14.01.2022 The rotator cuff is affected in 80% of chronic shoulder pain. The rotator cuff muscles provide stability of the shoulder in many movements of the arm. The shoulder joint provides SO much mobility but this is possible in sacrifice for passive stability. In other words, the joint capsule, ligaments etc. don't give us too much stability of the joint. ... We then have to rely predominantly on the muscles of the shoulder to provide control and stability. The only way to do this? STRENGTH TRAINING Our strength training needs to involve 5 types of movement to get us prepped for all movements the shoulder undergoes... 1. Push movements ie push up or chest press 2. Pull movements ie bent over row or tug of war 3. Lift movements ie forward raises or holding a weight while doing a squats 4. Press movements ie shoulder press or the press in a clean and press 5. Carry ie Farmers Walk or holding weights while doing lunges So for good shoulder health, does your upper body strength program include at least one exercise for each of the 5 movements above?

08.01.2022 An important announcement to new bookings With the changes in guidelines and needing to be adaptable, we have to adapt for the next five weeks. We remain open, but there are some changed guidelines in terms of conducting face to face consults. We have already made contact with those people that have existing bookings this week and we thank you all for your flexibility and understanding. If you have an existing booking beyond this week we will contact you as soon as possi...ble Our main aim at this time is to continue appropriate care for people but to ensure that we are contributing to the efforts being made by all Victorians to fight COVID-19. For those looking to book an appointment please be aware that there are specific guidelines for face to face consultations at the moment. One criteria is allowed to provide services that prevent a significant change/deterioration in functional independence necessitating escalation of care. If you do book a face to face consult you will receive a screening questionnaire that you will need to complete prior to attending your appointment. We continue to offer Telehealth (online) appointment and encourage that you book one of these appointments for non-urgent care. We have continued to deliver Telehealth appointment since the first lockdown. We have had many clients that are impressed by how effective these can be. Once again we thank everyone for their continued support. We are still here to care for the community, so reach out if you need any assistance. See more
