24.01.2022 Good enough to eat... This is 'Tom's turbo pasture cropping mix that was direct drilled into dry soil before the autumn break in March 2020. The oats, triticale and Moby barley have run their course, now the Annual Rye and Balansea Clover are hitting their straps. Likely with the season we are currently experiencing, we will be able to defer graze with weaners in February. The multi species mix has helped pump carbon into the soil and done a good job on our young red bulls for the recent sale. 06.01.2022 Same paddock , same day in late April. Looking back to 2019 we thought ourselves ok compared to our friends further north in terrible drought. But looking back it was a pretty ordinary start to Autumn. A contrast to this year getting the early break and good rains, good pasture growth, cattle are loving it, and so is Lucky .

This years re-vamped RASV carcase competition Covid style is one to remember, with judging on 26th September at Yea saleyards (not Melbourne showgrounds). We are currently working with Longy on this season selection of suitable red AI sires to donate, we reckon the Stabilizer Hereford cross is working well by the look of things! The cattle are frequen...tly moved, giving each paddock a longer rest period. This system improves grass cover and soil health, increasing the soils capacity to absorb and hold water.
