24.01.2022 [PSA]: The Mounties in #MountPritchard has been notified by NSW Health of a #covid19 incident. Health authorities are contacting all staff and patrons that were... at the club: - Thursday July 23, between midnight and 3am - Friday July 24, between 11am and 3pm as well as 8pm and midnight. - Saturday July 25, between midnight and 3am. Reports are that it was the same customer that attended the Pritchards Hotel as well (https://2166.it/compph). NSW Health is advising staff and patrons and directing them to isolate for 14days and test if any symptoms. If you are directed to self-isolate, you must remain in isolation for the full 14 days even if your initial test is negative.

24.01.2022 There have been three coronavirus cases linked to a Thai restaurant in Sydney, prompting further warnings for anyone who dined there to get tested and isolate. NSW is directing anyone who went to the Thai Rock restaurant in Stockland Mall, Wetherill Park, on July on 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 to immediately get tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of symptoms. Anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms should also be retested, even if they have had a negative re...sult previously, officials said in a statement this afternoon. Everyone must stay in isolation for a full 14 days even if their test is negative. https://www.news.com.au///2b8607161d673ba20de5f1ad0c028243

22.01.2022 [PSA]: #coronavirus update August 24. * NSW has recorded 3 new #covid19 cases in the last 24hr reporting period. The breakdown for today:... > 1 close contact linked to #Liverpool Hospital > 2 returned travellers in hotel quarantine * The 1 community transmission case, is a patient that was a close contact of a healthcare worker at Liverpool Hospital. The case was already in self-isolation during their infectious period as the result of being a close contact of a previous case there. * Another really good result for NSW as when you look at the breakdown, thats really only 1 case from community transmission yesterday. * A security guard infected with COVID-19 (from the Sydney quarantine hotel), has been fined twice for failing to self-isolate. The public health alerts issued yesterday for Westfield and Service NSW in #Burwood, was the result of the guards attendance at both places. If you have been instructed to isolate, please do so for the full 14 days - no exceptions! * NSW Health has released official times for the #Fairfield West ALDI public alert. If you were there on Sunday 16 August from 9:45am - 11am, monitor for symptoms. * NSW Health has fixed a mistake in their time frame for Service NSW Burwood and has it now listed as Friday 21 August from 2:30pm - 3pm. * Tangara School for Girls reopened today after closing for the last 2 weeks, due to a cluster forming there. The reopening will be monitored closely, after confirmation yesterday that another case linked to the school was found. The case was a household contact of a previous case. The cluster has now reached 27. * VIC has much improved case numbers today, down to 116. Sadly, 15 new deaths were also recorded. Premier Daniel Andrews announced the Victorian State of Emergency will be extended for another 12 months, now 18 months in total. * USA: It was a big morning for President Donald J. Trump, as he claimed America has had a "very historic breakthrough" in treating coronavirus. The US Government has authorised the emergency use of blood plasma recovered from people that were previously infected with #covid19, to be used for tratement. Although the therapy has not undergone a full set of clinical trials, the President claimed the treatment was safe and very effective. This is not the first time Trump has hailed a game-changing discovery and some experts remain skeptic of the treatment.

17.01.2022 [PSA]: Weve got our fortnightly update tonight, for the local area #covid19 heat map. Heres how our suburbs have changed in the last 14 days. The map looks a ...lot less green this update (which is good), as the 2171 (Cecil Hills/Carnes Hill) area and the 2170 (Liverpool/Casula) area have both had drops in active cases. Most other postcodes have gone up unfortunately, some only slightly (2168/2166/2165) though. Both 2166 and 2176 postcodes have had a +9 difference to the numbers last fortnight, but the area of concern lies within the 2176 suburbs, as they jump up to a darker shade of green with 25 active cases now. We dont know what theyre doing in 2163 (Carramar/Villawood), but theyve had no active cases since we started our heat map reporting 6 weeks ago, so well done to them! Our daily case numbers are starting to look good again, so hopefully well see more yellow areas when we report again in 14 days. Please continue to get tested if you show any symptoms. Its the only way we can continue to identify cases and protect each other. The closest public testing centre is located at #Cabramatta Community Hall. Details here: https://2166.it/cocbtc

15.01.2022 Doctors are calling on the NSW Government to make masks mandatory in NSW. There are fears that a second wave of #covid19 infections is going to send NSW down th...e same path that Melbourne has fallen into. Professor Raina MacIntyre, a leading epidemiologist, says mandatory masks "may make the difference" between minimising community transmission and avoiding the fate that has fallen on Victoria. She told the Australian Financial Review, "Pre-emptive measures such as using face masks early should be used in NSW . . . the earlier you use it, the more effective it will be." NSW Health currently only recommends that masks be worn in public, where physical distancing is not possible. Only recently, have they made it a requirement for people attending a health facility, to wear a mask. Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant said that NSW Health would only consider further measures on masks "if we got evidence of broader community transmission". Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Nick Coatsworth said that there was no evidence that mandating mask use could "stop or blunt the epidemiological curve" of #coronavirus outbreaks. Dr Coatsworth believes that it is wrong to suggest earlier mask use in Victoria, could have saved them from their statewide current outbreak. If youve been to #Cabramatta in the last few days, youll notice that were way ahead of the curve. It went from roughly 50% of the community to now what appears like 80%. What do you think? Is it time for the NSW Government to make masks mandatory here? Do you think it would make the difference in slowing down growing clusters and stopping new ones from forming?

13.01.2022 TOKYO (BLOOMBERG) - After initial success, Japan is facing a reality check on the coronavirus. The country garnered global attention after containing the first wave of Covid-19 with what it referred to as the "Japan Model" - limited testing and no lockdown, nor any legal means to force businesses to close. The countrys finance minister even suggested a higher "cultural standard" helped contain the disease.... https://www.straitstimes.com//japan-acted-like-the-virus-h This Covid-19 pandemic is an Objective test

11.01.2022 [PSA]: Heres our latest local area #covid19 heat map compilation. The really good news, is that our area has improved dramatically since we last compiled it a... month ago, when numbers had spiked again. If you look back at the last map, half the areas were light green (10-19 cases) and the 2176 postcode was a darker shade of green (20-29 cases). Now there are no green local areas at all! 2176 went from having the most cases in our area, to now nothing at all. 2171 is also now at 0, so well done to both areas. Every other local postcode has had a drop in numbers, except for 2163. The Carramar/Villawood postcode recently picked up 1 case. This doesnt reflect badly for the postcode as theyve been sitting on 0 cases since we started our heat map. Their 1 case now is still less than most other local areas too. With the great improvement in our area and no new cases in the previous local clusters, weve decided thats theres less need for daily reporting and so todays daily report will be our last for now. Well still keep on top of public health alerts affecting the area, so if theres something affecting us, well let you know. Lets hope we dont need to though, so please dont get complacent and remember to keep doing the right thing by social distancing, wearing your mask when you cannot and get tested at the first sign of symptoms. Stay safe!

06.01.2022 [PSA]: NSW Health issued an alert today for Westfield Liverpool and 5th Avenue Beauty Bar at Greenway Plaza in #WetherillPark. A previously reported case linki...ng back to Our Lady of Mercy College, attended these 2 venues on the dates below. * Westfield #Liverpool - Friday August 7, from 10:30am - 11am and 12:30pm - 1pm * 5th Avenue Beauty Bar - Saturday August 8, from 2pm - 3pm. If you were at these venues, please monitor for symptoms and if symptoms occur, get tested and self-isolate. Anyone that was at the beauty bar at the time has already been contacted by health authorities. NSW Health has deemed the beauty bar a low risk case and weve been advised that the shop has been deep cleaned and is safe to the public. One of the many reasons that kept this a low risk case was that the business advised all clients attending to wear a mask. The customer that attended wore a mask that day (as a precaution, not because they knew they had it). As the workers at beauty shops also wear masks, the risk of transmission was a lot lower.
