24.01.2022 Hello again The planned works for disability access have been delayed by a couple of days. Work will now commence at 7am on Monday March 19th. It should take no more than 8 days.... This means that access from Royal Parade will not be possible. Please use the gate on the Avenue or the gate near the church. We have been assured that access to the clubhouse through the front door will be maintained out of hours. When the workmen are there entry to the club house will be via the back door. Kind regards

23.01.2022 Hello everyone I have just been advised that our men’s Pennant team is playing in a semi-final this Saturday afternoon(August 12th) Play starts at 1pm and occupies most of the afternoon.... They will use courts 1 and 2 but if possible it is preferable for court 3 to be empty. That way no stray balls will enter the field of play. Apologies for any inconvenience. Kind regards
23.01.2022 Dear Members, This Sunday August 27th is our community social tennis day, being the last Sunday of the month. It is a great opportunity to bring your friends to play at no cost. We are likely to have visitors, so it is also a good way to promote the club.... The weather should be just right. Club social is always good fun, so come along! See more
22.01.2022 This is something of a sad tale. Parkville Tennis has always operated on an honour system whether paying for visitors or cans of soft drink. Unfortunately we now have the situation where the fridge has been completely emptied once and at other times many cans have gone missing without payment.... Tennis balls have also been taken from the seniors/social cupboard and money has gone from the drinks tin. This is not the Parkville way. If you are the perpetrator, please respect our honour system and stop taking things.
21.01.2022 ello everyone The Council are upgrading the showers at the club They plan to start tomorrow Thursday in the Mens Work is estimated to take about a week They will then work on the Ladies. Also estimated to take a week.... This means we will have to share the changing and toilet facilities. It probably means no access to the lights for key use. I have been assured that all workmen have police and working with children checks. If you have any questions please contact me. Kind regard
21.01.2022 Whether you're looking to play socially, get coached or play a bit of competition, Parkville T.C. has always got its door open and invites new members to come and join us at our club !!

20.01.2022 Hello everyone There are still issues with the construction work at Parkville.... There have been several changes to the plan and the scope and we are still finding out in bits and pieces. There will be no access to the club house possible tomorrow Friday April 27th. As this means to toilet or change access Friday morning tennis is cancelled. The back door should be rekeyed to your normal tennis key by tomorrow so the club house will be available on Saturday and Sunday. At the moment it seems that the club house will not be available on Monday April 30th. If there is any change I will let you know. My apologies for the inconvenience caused. Due to an oversight tennis will not be possible on Saturday afternoon May 5th Pennant and an all day hire have been scheduled together. On Sunday May 6th only 2 courts will be available for club social. As most of the committee are unavailable on Friday May 4th, it has been decided to cancel the First Friday social evening. This also takes into account that the work at the club may not be finished. Once again my apologies. Regards Anne

07.01.2022 Hello everyone This weather is difficult for court management and protection. The rain has often left courts with large puddles or a very damp surface.... It is imperative that play does not take place on a wet court. If there is water on the court it can only be taken up by use of the special roller. Courts must not be bagged when wet. If you are not sure how to use the roller please call me or Rob or talk to another member who knows. It is important to work from the edges not through the puddles. You must walk at snails pace. The roller needs to be emptied into the drain regularly. Even when all the surface water is gone the courts will not be playable for some time as the surface will still be unstable. Sliding and stopping suddenly can cause the surface to break up and be permanently damaged. Please help us to care for our courts in this difficult weather. I know it is frustrating to not be able to play but it is critical that we care for our courts. Thank you for your assistance Kind regards Anne
07.01.2022 Dear Members, Our Friday night social is still on but unfortunately, John Hallowell is unable to attend. John has been an engaged and active member of our club for over 30 years. He has helped organise the men’s NSNTA and Pennant tournaments, as well as being a regular competitor. John is a long-serving committee member, and has helped out with selecting coaches for the club. He has come to many, many working bees and was always first on the scene when strong winds necessita...ted a top-up of en tout cas. John enjoys a social hit and is a very courteous player with gentle hints on how to hit better shots. John, thanks for your commitment to Parkville Tennis Club. Your cheerful presence and your contribution to the quality of our courts (and our tennis) will be greatly missed. Good luck on your move to Pakenham, and we wish you many more years of great tennis. Best wishes, Jane See more
