25.01.2022 Parramatta FC's promising former young Eagles attacker, Jean Borg. Our first Maltese born signing in 42 years, since Ray "Zazu" Farrugia signed for the Eagles in 1978, Jean made a very promising start to his stint at our club throughout the trials, & proved he could hit the back of the net when he became our Parramatta Melita Eagles' XI leading goal scorer in the victorious inaugural 2020 Maltese Cultural Cup campaign held in Melbourne last January. We were sad to see you hea...d back to Europe when COVID-19 hit, but now that football is up & running again, we want to wish you all the best on your return with one of Malta's most successful football clubs. https://www.facebook.com/maltafootystats/posts/3840199796010434

24.01.2022 2021 SIGNING NEWS Parramatta FC are delighted to confirm the re-signing of our loyal midfielder, Mohamedali Jalloh, for the 2021 season. A Sierra Lione representative in this year’s NSW African Cup & now in his fifth consecutive season at the Eagles making his way through the ranks (From our Under 18’s squad), MJ will be looking to continue his positive performances & cement his place in the Eagles’ starting lineup. We look forward to seeing you in the red & white again MJ!!!

24.01.2022 18s squad Go Parra!

23.01.2022 We would like to Congratulate the Maltese Women's National Team who scored another resounding 2-0 away victory, this time over Israel in Tel Aviv. This has given them a record 10 points, the highest scored by any Maltese National team in a single campaign. To add to this, it was the first time ever that a National Team have won 2 consecutive competitive matches with 2 clean sheets in a match played outside Malta. And finally, 16 year old Hayley Bugeja scores again, to push her tally to 5 goals in 5 international matches. Well Done Ladies & FORZA MALTA!!!

22.01.2022 Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club would like to wish former head coach & Socceroos coach, Raul Blanco, a very Happy belated 79th Birthday!!! Argentine born Blanco, regarded as one of the best coaches to ever grace Australian shores, was the Eagles' longest serving & most successful head coach, leading our red & whites to many title victories & silverware. Pictured here is Raul being paraded around Melita Stadium by the Melita players & Maltese fans after their 2-0 Grand Fi...nal victory over Canberra Croatia in the 1989 NSW Division One (NPL1) competition, which promoted Melita to the National Soccer League for the 1989-90 season, the second time he had coached the club to the NSL. The Eagles also claimed the Minor Premiership that season, finishing 8 points clear of 2nd placed Canberra Croatia. We thank you for your many years of hard work & dedication for our club Raul, & we hope you had a great day with family & friends. You are most welcome to visit us at any time, & we look forward to hopefully seeing you at Melita Stadium in the 2021 season.

22.01.2022 Senior trial game change of location. Go Parra

21.01.2022 2021 SIGNING NEWS Parramatta FC are delighted to confirm the re-signing of our exciting young attacker, Ali Dulleh, for the 2021 season. This will be Ali's third season representing our club, & anyone who has seen the 2020 Maltese Cultural Cup winning member in action, know that he has an eye for goal. We look forward to seeing you in the red & white again Ali!!!

20.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY ARTICLE #80. This week's Throwback Thursday article takes us back to this time last year, when our Parramatta Melita Eagles were extremely honoured to be invited to the Inaugural Maltese Cultural Cup tournament by our dear old friends at George Cross FC, over the Australia Day long weekend. Our Eagles were the only football club to participate in this tournament from out of Melbourne, which included Altona City Soccer Club, Altona North Soccer Club, Green G...ully Soccer Club, Keilor Park Soccer Club, & of course the hosts, Caroline Springs George Cross FC. With the permission of Parramatta FC & the Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club, Head Coach, Tony Basha, lead a squad of promising young footballers to represent our club in Melbourne, utilising the Melita name for the first time since 1992. A number of PMESC committee members & supporters made the long journey south to witness a most memorable moment for our club. The six competing teams were placed into two groups of three teams, being Altona City Soccer Club, Altona North Soccer Club, & Keilor Park Soccer Club in one group, while the second group was made up of former NSL Clubs, George Cross FC, Green Gully Soccer Club, & of course our very own Parramatta Melita Eagles. After the six matches were played between the two groups, Parramatta Melita Eagles (Who defeated Green Gully 3-0, but suffered a 2-1 defeat to George Cross) would top their group to face Altona City Soccer Club (Who defeated Altona North 4-0, but suffered a 2-1 defeat to Keilor Park), who also topped their group, in the Cup Final. In an entertaining match, our Eagles would triumph 5-3, to win the Inaugural Maltese Cultural Cup, claiming our first piece of silverware since 2014. Sadly due to COVID-19, the Maltese Cultural Cup was not able to be organised for the Australia Day weekend in 2021, but we are most certainly looking forward to meeting up with our Maltese friends in Melbourne again in the near future.

19.01.2022 Just before the 1957 season commenced & a few weeks after the NSW Federation of Soccer Clubs stood on its feet, two Maltese Clubs, Melita S.F.C. & Malta Eagles, whom were the fiercest of rivals competing in the Eastern Suburbs Soccer Football Association (ESSFA), forgot their differences & decided to join colours. It didn’t take too long for the Melita Eagles United S.F.C., under the leadership of their President, Mr. John P. Albany, who was later elected to the Federation Council, to decide to join the Federation, & so be the first Maltese team in Australia to play Senior Soccer. Here's to making our 65th year a successful one. COYE!!!

19.01.2022 Sadly, it wasn't the result we were hoping for even though Malta did not lose the match. A 1-0 or 2-1 victory was required for Malta to qualify to Group C of the UEFA Nations League. The boys had a disallowed goal & some great chances on goal which got the best out of the Faroe keeper, but in the end one lapse of concentration undid it all. Regardless of the result, we want to Congratulate the Maltese National side on a great campaign. One thing for the boys to continue is their unbeaten run which is now up to 7 matches. Onwards & upwards from here!!! FORZA MALTA!!!

19.01.2022 Wishing our Head Coach, Gert Disha, a very Happy Birthday!!! Here's to a COVID free 2021 (Our club's 65th Anniversary), so we can look forward to seeing you manage our Eagles soar to a promotion & hopefully some silverware. We hope you have had a great day Gert

17.01.2022 On behalf of our President and our Board, we want to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas. We hope you all are spoiled, and perhaps find a couple of Melita jerseys under your tree.

16.01.2022 Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club wishes all our members, supporters, volunteers, & followers a very Happy Australia Day!!! We hope you have all had a great one.

15.01.2022 Wishing our former NPL Championship star player, Paul O'Grady, a very Happy belated 42nd Birthday!!! Paul arrived at the Eagles in 1996, joining the Under 21's squad which took out the NPL1 Minor Premiership as well as the Grand Final. In 1997, his 21's side again achieved the double, in a season which many old school Eagles supporters would know was the club's most successful season taking out the NSW Premier League "Historical Treble", which to this day is still yet to be a...chieved by any other NSW football club. 1998 saw O'Grady promoted to 1st Grade, where the Eagles sadly missed out the Finals Series on goal difference, however, in 1999 the Red & Whites finished 4th, winning all their Finals matches except the NPL1 Grand Final going down to Blacktown City. Paul was then snapped up by the Wollongong City Wolves, who were competing in the National Soccer League, however, early in the 2001/2002 season, the Eagles brought him back to Melita Stadium to help the team complete a double, taking out the NPL1 Minor Premiership & Grand Final. This talented defender would play his last match for the Eagles in the 2002/2003 season before being signed up by National Soccer League club, Parramatta Power SC. We hope you are doing well Paul, & hope you had a great day.

15.01.2022 2021 SIGNING NEWS Parramatta FC are delighted to confirm the re-signing of our amazing goalkeeper, Nikola Bratic, for the 2021 season. In his short stint with the Eagles so far, Nikola has already displayed his talent & many impressive saves this past season. We look forward to seeing you in between the sticks again Nikola!!!

12.01.2022 We would like to Congratulate the Maltese Women's National Team on a resounding 4-0 away victory over Georgia in Tbilisi this evening!!! These women have continued from where the men have left off, & with many rising young stars coming through the ranks, such as 16 year old sensation, Hayley Bugeja, who is making headlines in the Italian Serie A with US Sassuolo & scoring a hat-trick in this evening's Euro 2022 qualifier, the future appears to look bright for Maltese Women's Football. Well Done Ladies & FORZA MALTA!!!

11.01.2022 Fields are open! Training/trials are on

08.01.2022 Wishing our former NPL Championship star player, Mirko Jurilj, a very Happy 47th Birthday!!! Mirko enjoyed two stints with our Eagles, claiming a NSW NPL1 title double, when the Red & Whites took out the 1996 & 2001/02 Grand Finals. Parramatta also claimed the Minor Premiership in the 2001/02 season. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Mirko who represented one of our list of Legends invited to our Heritage Round Celebrations at Melita Stadium in 2015. We hope you are doing well Mirko, & hope you have had a great day.

07.01.2022 Tuesday training/trials on!

07.01.2022 After Malta's Luke Gambin was denied a goal for an arguable offside, the Maltese take the lead through a Matthew Guillaumier cracker in the 54th minute!!!

05.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY ARTICLE #77. This week's Throwback Thursday article which has been taken from the current edition of "The Voice of The Maltese" magazine, looks back at when the Parramatta Melita Eagles Soccer Club achieved the mammoth but amazing task of taking a Maltese-Australian squad to Malta in search of their roots. Enjoy!!!

05.01.2022 2021 SIGNING NEWS Parramatta FC are delighted to confirm the return of our talented attacker, Zak Elrich, for the 2021 season. This Parramatta Eagles junior returns to Melita Stadium after a year away from the club. Scoring some spectacular goals for the Eagles in the past, we look forward to seeing you in the red & white again Zak!!!

05.01.2022 A classic Parramatta Eagles kit from the 1992/93 season, when our club competed in the Coca-Cola National Soccer League. They don't make kits like this anymore.

05.01.2022 From all of us at Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club, wishing you all a very Happy, safe, & prosperous New Year. Here's to making our 65th year a successful one.

04.01.2022 It is with great sadness we mourn the loss of a long time fan and member of our community. Constantino Axiak sadly passed away yesterday (December 4, 2020), at 92 years of age. Constantino was a passionate Melita Eagles fan, who introduced the club to his children and grandchildren. He would always make sure they all came to every home game to enjoy the warm pastizzi, the ice cold Kinnies and most importantly enjoy supporting the Eagles. He even brought his family to rally at... Melita Stadium when they removed the Eagles from the NSL in 1995. Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club sends its sincerest and deepest condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time. Thank you Constantino for all your support over the years. MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.

03.01.2022 Back at it! Youth Trial this Saturday. Go Parra!

03.01.2022 We would like to wish Joe Caruana a very Happy 80th Birthday!!! Joe, a life member & former Director of our committee, was involved with the Eagles for almost 30 years, tirelessly working as a gate attendant as well as an organiser/fundraiser. We hope you have enjoyed the day with your family, & hope to see you at Melita Stadium in the 2021 season.

02.01.2022 We are saddened to hear the passing of Football Great, Diego Armando Maradona, this morning, aged 60. While in Australia to face our Socceroos in the World Cup Playoff Qualifier in 1993 to qualify for USA '94, an exhibition match was organised between Argentina & a Parramatta Eagles select squad, which was played at Wentworth Park. Featured in this photo with Maradona is Jason Falzon, Gabriel "Chi Chi" Mendez, Walter Ardone, & Pablo Cardozo. RIP DM #10

02.01.2022 #UnitedForMalta From all of us at Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club, we would like to wish the Maltese National Team the best of luck in tomorrow morning's encounter against the Faroe Islands, which will decide the winner of Group D1 in the UEFA Nations League!!! Tune in to TVM2 or Optus Sport at 6:45am Wednesday morning (Sydney time) & witness the Maltese National Team aiming to create history!!!

01.01.2022 Parramatta Melita Eagles Sports Club would like to wish former head coach & Socceroos coach, Rale Rasic, a very Happy 85th Birthday!!! A well respected figure in Australian Football, Rale began his playing career in Yugoslavia. He migrated to Australia in the early 1960's where he continued his playing days in the Victorian Football League. Revolutionising the game in Australia, Rasic was appointed head coach of the Socceroos in 1970, at just 34 years of age, & in 1974 led th...e Socceroos to their first ever World Cup Finals. After managing a number of Australian NSL clubs, Rale was appointed head coach of our Parramatta Eagles for the 1992/93 season to replace Raul Blanco, who had signed for the West Adelaide Hellas. Whilst in charge, the Eagles qualified for the 1992/93 NSL League Finals Series, suffered a last minute 2-1 defeat to Heidelberg United in the 1992/93 NSL Cup Final, but made amends taking out the 1993/94 NSL Cup with a 2-0 victory over Sydney United. Sadly, Rasic would only remain at Melita Stadium for 3 seasons, after our Eagles were unfairly relegated from the National Competition at the end of the 1994/95 season. We had the pleasure of being reacquainted with Rale in 2015, when we invited him to our Heritage Round Celebrations held at Melita Stadium. We thank you for your many years of hard work & dedication for our club & Australian Football, Rale, & we hope you had a great day with family & friends. You are most welcome to visit us at any time, & we look forward to hopefully seeing you at Melita Stadium in the 2021 season.
