15.01.2022 Barwon Valley School has just become the first specialist school to be awarded 5 stars in the state Govts Achievement Programme - to do with healthy eating/lifestyle. Heres an article from local media: https://www.krock.com.au//106634-five-stars-for-local-spec Christine Couzins presented a certificate, and the programme gave them a huge basket of fruit and some teaching resources to share within the school. Well done!

15.01.2022 Dear Colleagues You may have just heard that the Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews, has announced that the school holidays will be brought forward to Tuesday. Before informing your school communities, I encourage you to wait for further advice from DET as this may look different for our schools and/or specific cohorts of students. This may not be a blanket approach for all staff or students across Victoria. It is unlikely that this will mean that holidays will begin for staff... also from Tuesday, but may be more similar to having Pupil Free Days from Tuesday to Friday this week. Watch this space and look out for further advice from DET. Any further questions, please ask.

04.01.2022 The current official news: Dear principals, teachers, early childhood educators and education support staff, This afternoon the Victorian Government announced additional steps to combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), including bringing forward the school holidays in Victoria to commence from Tuesday 24 March.... All staff will use the next four days for planning and preparation for the likely transition to flexible and remote learning. We are aware of the need for clarification around many issues. More information for schools and early childhood services will be provided as soon as possible tomorrow. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is without precedent in living memory, and it is taking us into the most challenging of times as individuals, in our communities and as a society. Thank you for your continued outstanding efforts during this time.
