18.01.2022 Headaches..... we all get them from time to time, but for some it can be even more frequent. Dr Patrick talks to us today about a common form of headache he regularly sees in the clinic, a CERVICOGENIC HEADACHE So what is a cervicogenic headache? ... A cervicogenic headache is a pain that develops in the neck, though a person feels the pain in their head. Cervicogenic headaches are secondary headaches. Secondary headaches are those caused by an underlying condition, such as neck injuries, infections, or severe high blood pressure. This sets them apart from primary headaches, such as migraines and cluster headaches. The pain caused by a cervicogenic headache begins in the neck and the back of the head and radiates towards the front of the head. People may confuse cervicogenic headaches with migraines and tension headaches, both of which can cause neck pain. 13.01.2022 Did you know?! That tailbones aren't really a bone themselves? They're composed of 3-5 coccygeal vertebgrae (or spinal bones), and are fused together to form a single bone! Later in life, the coccyx (or tailbone) may even fuse with the sacrum, though this is more common in women than in men. The coccyx serves as an attachment site for tendons, ligaments, and muscles. It also functions as an insertion point of some of the muscles of the pelvic floor. The coccyx also functions... to support and stabilize a person while he or she is in a sitting position.
