25.01.2022 For our Brigade Members, here’s one to relieve the boredom of isolation, this relates to one of our long standing members....

25.01.2022 Good Morning, we hope that everyone is in good health and keeping sane in these trying times. It has been tough for everyone with current restrictions on what we can and can’t do, but if we stick to the rules we will all come out of the other side of this pandemic. Already the stage 3 restrictions are showing a downward trend. The Brigade has been maintaining training and preparedness by means of online digital training, video conferencing etc. we want you, the Community, t...o know that we are still responding to all calls with the same diligence and speed that we always have. If you call us, we will be there. I have added a photo (not my best profile!) of me having fun at a Breathing Apparatus training day before the virus arrived, have a look through your old photo albums and see the good times you have had and remember they will happen again. 22.01.2022 Today Members attended a storage container fire which was started by transfer of heat from welding on the exterior of the structure. Good work by the owner in keeping the doors closed until our arrival significantly reduced the damage to contents. Members from Ballarat City Brigade assisted with two members wearing Breathing Apparatus entering the structure to black out hot spots. Even in these trying times we are here to help our Communities.

20.01.2022 I was talking to my Son this morning and stupidly said It’s been very quiet in the Brigade lately...........

20.01.2022 Please make sure you check all your smoke alarms

20.01.2022 The Brigade Ultra Light Tanker and two Members assisted with control of the fire on Mt Buninyong yesterday. It was very steep terrain and air support helped to control the blaze! Video coutesy of Firefighter Lee Webber.

19.01.2022 This is why you never put water on a fat fire. And this is only very small. Imagine the disaster caused if it was a large fat fire.

18.01.2022 One of our fellow volunteers from Creswick Fire Brigade. Wow the last 2 years has gone so fast.

18.01.2022 Thanks Brown Hill Community Fireaware Network for sharing this information, we work as one to keep our Communities safe.

16.01.2022 This morning, The Brigade attended the call most recognised by small children as our job, A Cat stuck up a tree! After several attempts to coax the feline down, it was decided not to stress him anymore, and the owner is organising an arborist to climb up and get him. Unfortunately in these unforseen times it took longer to sterilise the Tanker and equipment on return to Station than the whole job. Please stay safe, and more importantly, Stay At Home!

16.01.2022 It's been a busy week for the Brigade, with 8 members completing training with our Thermal Imaging Camera on Tuesday, and 3 members doing skills maintenance training on Breathing Apparatus this morning.

15.01.2022 During these trying times, we are still here for you, please help us to stay safe by doing the right thing.

13.01.2022 CFA has received a number of calls from community members regarding bonfires to mark the ‘Spark in the Dark’ event this evening. We appreciate those who are tha...nking our frontline workers, but urge you to keep fire safety front of mind. As today’s conditions are windy in some areas we are urging those who wish to participate to not do so by lighting bonfires or using fire pits. If you are choosing to light a candle, please ensure it is monitored by an adult and extinguished properly. You might like to mark the event by using a torch or outside light. Thank you and stay safe.

11.01.2022 Great work by all involved.

11.01.2022 Our volunteers assisted one of our locals to burn 3 piles of trees today. Great experience for our new members.

10.01.2022 Good information, worth a watch

10.01.2022 The Brigade, supported by Invermay, Bungaree and Ballarat City Brigades attended another unattended burn off at 0400 this morning, it is very annoying to be called out of bed in the wee small hours just because someone has not registered their burn off with Vicfire, and even more annoying when it is a repeat offender who shows no consideration for his neighbours giving up their time to attend. For everyone the burn off notification line is 1800668511, it is a free call and saves volunteers fom having to attend. We were also called again at 1400 this afternoon to support Invermay at a shed fire in Taylor Court.

08.01.2022 Hello All, please note that the Fire Danger Period will end on 06/04/2020 at 00.01 hrs in Golden Plains Shire, City Of Ballarat, Moorabool and Hepburn Shires. This is not an invitation to light up everything in sight, normal regulations and precautions must be adhered to, including notifying the burn off line on 1800668511, having enough water on hand to extinguish and not leaving a fire unattended. It is still very dry, so please be careful.

07.01.2022 Very well deserved, congratulations Shane

07.01.2022 Tonight at 5.40 pm, the Brigade will be sounding their siren four times, in respect of our four collegues from Victoria Police who lost their lives. Please listen out and take a minute to reflect on their loss and their families.

05.01.2022 Fantastic news!

05.01.2022 Hope no one takes offence to this. I found it quite fitting.

04.01.2022 Hi Everyone, the fuel reduction burn west of Springs Road will be ignited within the next ten days, weather permitting.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone, the Brigade has some good news to share, thanks to generous donations from the public we have been able to obtain some new equipment. As part of a State Wide allocation we will be getting two remote area lighting systems to assist with night time operations and an Automated External Defibrillator which will be available for our safety and that of our community. We will also be acquiring a power supply to enable us to maintain running of a portable fridge whilst the Tanker is in the station, it is important that we maintain a supply of cool bottled water during the Summer months for our crew safety.

03.01.2022 Our thoughts and prayers are with our Brothers and Sisters in the USA, We Will Never Forget

03.01.2022 Helping out a local farmer today with some pile burns, great opportunity to introduce new members to radiated heat and how to protect yourself.

03.01.2022 It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing of valued friend, long time Brigade Member and Ex Captain William ( Bill ) Rumler. Bill was Captain of Glen Park for ten years from 1961 to 1971, and I’m sure we all have fond memories of working alongside him, both within and outside of the Brigade. I am told Bill passed away peacfully at home with his family at the age of 85. Here is an old photo of him taking possesion of the 1968 Austin tanker we recieved in that year.

02.01.2022 Today the Brigade responded to a motor vehicle collision on Ballarat/Dayelsord Road. On arrival we found a small sedan had left the road and into a ditch, then launching into the air, over a farm fence then colliding with a plough and some irrigation pipes. 5 people were treated at the scene by RAV assisted by CFA members. Miraculously all occupants walked away from the vehicle with minor injuries.

01.01.2022 It was a busy morning for the Brigade today, at 5.44 we were paged to a car fire on Creswick/Bungaree Road, on arrival we found a toyota ute on fire, impinging on a 400lt diesel pod in the tray area. Quick arrival and good work by both Glen Park and Creswick allowed us to extinguish the fire, unfortunately the fuel pod melted slightly and around 100lt of diesel leaked out, turning the incident to a Hazmat. The members managed to contain the spill with a mineral earth bund to... a small area and both shire and Vicroads crews will complete the clean up. 30 minutes after we returned to station we had another page to a car fire on Springs Road Glen Park. We were on scene within five minutes but were still unable to save the vehicle. The vehicle was on LPG so the Sebastopol LPG response crew assisted with flaring off the contents to allow safe removal of the car. All occupants escaped without injury. See more

01.01.2022 This morning our members completed entrapment drills as part of our covid safe approach to the upcoming bushfire season, protecting our Communities and Proud to Serve.
