24.01.2022 A sample of photos taken of this magical festival of magnificent horses

22.01.2022 I have been very quiet for some time. Cataracts have slowed me down. One cataract operation down and one to go later in September. I haven't done any serious artwork or photography since the first operation as I have difficulty focusing and I am very light sensitive. BUT I am planning, planning for when I am able to see clearly again. In the meantime, I have been going through my photos, selecting some for quick little studies to try. That way, I won't be bogged down with painful detail and hopefully I will get my mojo back. I found these photos of Axle Rose Croft. I inadvertently grabbed my camera and shot them as he washed himself in the sunlight one morning. Didn't check the camera settings and this happened. A happy accident.

22.01.2022 My needle felted Leadbeaters Possum.

22.01.2022 Photo taken at the National Clydesdale and Heavy Horse Championship Show at Werribee earlier this year. Yay!

21.01.2022 Coronavirus lockdown and lots of time to finish off my latest project. A little replica Xala dog, needle felted for my wonderful niece Jara Erin. Her 30th birthday party was cancelled due to the restrictions. Will have to put that celebration off until a later date. Xala sadly passed away recently after many years of loyal companionship and love. Luckily Jara had taken lots of photos so I was able to get pretty close to her likeness. Such a lovely way to spend my time.

18.01.2022 Hair, hair, hair, grow it, show it, long as I can grow it my hair!

18.01.2022 My latest needle felted creatures. Purcy with toy mouse. Those tabby markings were interesting.

17.01.2022 I have the photos from Saturday up on my website paula.markey02.wix.com/paula-markey. Still have Sunday to go tomorrow.

16.01.2022 Jousting at The Baroque Horse Festival 2019 Kryal Castle

16.01.2022 Some photos of the magnificent horses who won on Saturday, plus others who may not have taken home a ribbon, but were winners all the way! And did I mention that I like big butts??? More to follow in galleries to come...

15.01.2022 A blast from the past. This popped up from a friend who shared it.

15.01.2022 Just finished this little needle felted lion cub using sew in glass eyes from Megan at handmadeglasseyes.com. Beautiful lifelike eyes.

10.01.2022 My latest needle felted creature - a baby Leadbeater Possum. I wasn't happy with the armature or toes and had left him lying around for some time, but I decided to continue if not just for the practice. He turned out happily better than I expected. :)

07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who sent such positive and supportive responses to my last post. It seems that your positive wishes have had an effect - the hole in the macular of my 'good' eye seems to have resolved itself! I can now see again, I can read again, and I am SOOOO Grateful for the opportunity to be able to begin creating again. I have really struggled since March when my eye was damaged. I still have to get the all clear from Retinal specialist in December, and I won't be taking any commissions until next year, but here is my latest project, a little kangaroo joey in memory of the orphaned kangaroo I raised, named 'Baby'. She lived between our place and the bush for 14 years. Still miss her, but now she can hang out with me again. Gratitude

05.01.2022 Second cataract operation done and my eye is recovering. AND I can see so much more clearly already! I have been itching to get back to the easel, but I want to wait until my eye settles down. In the meantime I have been playing with my needle felting.

01.01.2022 Unfortunately I am no longer taking commissions for artwork, photography or needle felting as I can't focus due to lesion in the macular of my only 'good' eye following a laser treatment. I am still hopeful this may resolve in time but at this time, I am closing my art and photography business. Very sad

01.01.2022 My latest needle felted creature. A Spider monkey created using my own reference photos taken at Jamala Wildlife Lodge in Canberra.

01.01.2022 The Baroque Horse Festival at Kryal Castle 2019. A fabulous two day event of magnificent horses and skilled handlers and riders. I will be posting photos in the... coming days. Here are some of Lisa Leitch on her beautiful cremello stallion Lucio Do Rei, who has only recently been under saddle. Such a joy to behold. See more
