10.01.2022 Winter has arrived and with that comes the cold weather! You wouldn't go all winter without washing or brushing your hair would you? Please remember dog's are the same, their fur cannot be left unwashed and brushed just because it is cold. Dog's do not need to be shaved short during winter unless required but of course still require maintenance to keep their skin, hair and nails healthy. Fear not when booking appointments during the cooler months, I will not send your dog ho...me with a short summer clip unless requested, longer clips or trims are available! But in order for these to be possible, dogs need to be brushed regularly to avoid painful matting. Matting against the skin can cause your dog problems and is very painful. So are overgrown nails and skin infections or dry skin from lack of bathing. When groomed, your dog will be bathed in warm water using quality shampoo that will hydrate the skin and dried immediately afterwards with a heated dryer. I hope this has been educating to owners about their dogs grooming needs in Winter! If you have any questions or would like to book your dog in for a groom please do not hesitate to contact me! Attached are some photos of dogs that had a comb clip (leaving fur longer) done or had a bath and tidy service, which focuses on tidying feet, face and sanitary as well as give the fur a good wash and brush out!
