19.01.2022 Happy weekend everyone. From our gorgeous baby white rhino who is still finding her feet and getting braver as she ventures away from Mum.

15.01.2022 Once upon a time there were 9 species of tiger. Of the 5 species left, they ALL have less than 1000 in the wild. It would be terrible to see all species disappear in our lifetimes. Yesterday our beautiful 13 year old Sumatran tiger Rhani passed away. With less than 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild this has been a huge blow to saving this species. ... We had hoped to breed her with Kembali. Sadly tigers in their older years are prone to certain types of cancer. She was sick Sunday morning and an immediate vet check found multiple tumours causing her distress. The biggest threat to Sumatran tiger numbers in the wild is loss of habitat for palm tree oil farming. Palm tree oil is found in many cleaning products, cosmetics, confectionery, sweets, ice creams and more. There are alternatives to palm oil and the more forward companies are making the switch. eg Streets Icecream changed over 2 years ago. They are now my ice cream of choice! As consumers there are some simple things we can do to encourage other companies to do the same. There are many phone apps that you can use to scan products when shopping - Such as Sustainable Palm Oil Shopping. Learning what products you use that contain palm oil and making a consumer shift gets big companies attention. I’m putting out a challenge to everyone to make a shift on 1 cosmetic 1 food item 1 cleaning product Please share with us which ones you’ve switched. And please Share the post. Let’s help Rhani leave a big legacy. RIP beautiful Rhani. Photo credit : thank you @pamela van der ploeg

13.01.2022 And you thought CATs don’t like water Kembali

04.01.2022 It’s INTERNATIONAL RESCUE CAT DAY. As a rescuer of one very special cat, I thought I’d start a thread of a Meet My Cat Challenge - feel free to share your own rescue cat stories ... My name is: Teddy. My nicknames: Ted, teddy B, teddy bear, fluffy bum, little boy, little man, monkey, rabbit, too many to name really. My age is: almost 4. My favorite human food: tinned tuna in spring water chicken breast and white fish. Yuk to mince or anything beefy. Best friend: Mum and Coco (tortoiseshell) from next door. She visits me at my catio and comes to the bedroom window. My biggest fear is: sudden and very loud noises. My favorite things to do: Play with my ocky- my favourite toy. Favorite place to sleep: On the second top perch of my cat tree in my catio, or anywhere that’s within 1-2 feet of my mum. I check on her frequently throughout the day. Do I love car rides? I sure do. And I fall asleep before we are out of my street. Do I snore? Never, but my mum does sometimes until I pat her on the face with my paw. My job: Be cute, funny and caring to everyone but especially my mum. #MeetMyCatChallenge
