25.01.2022 Hey guys, unfortunately at this stage I am unable to take on any NEW Myotherapy/Remedial Massage clients. The clinic is currently booked out until Christmas, including the extra 20hrs I opened up before the end of the year, therefore from now on I can only put my current clients on the waitlist. I am so sorry for the inconvenience, this is an incredibly hard decision to make, especially for someone who doesn't like to say "no". Please get in contact with me if you ...need an appointment and I can give you the details of other local therapists. Hopefully this will just be a short term decision, so please keep an eye out on my social media platforms for future details . . *To anyone with vouchers and all the clients currently on my waitlist, I will do what I can to get you in over the next 6weeks. . #keepstretching #myotherapy #remedialmassage #pregnancymyotherapy #bookedup #heretohelp #geelongbusiness See more

21.01.2022 PAYNE THERAPIES TURNS 5!! 5 years ago as a 22 year old I decided to take a huge leap and start up @paynetherapies to work for myself and see where this new challenge and chapter would take me. What an inredible 5 years it has been. To watch my business grow from 6-10 clients a week to 30-40 has been incredible, and I have you, my clients to thank for that. I started this business as I wanted to make a difference to peoples lives, I wanted to help them reach their personal ...goals, help them get through a days work without being in pain, assist them in creating a better quality of life, and limit their pain and discomfort through educating, hands on treatment and home exercises. I know I can't help everyone, as much as I wish I could, but for all those I have, thank you for trusting in me I am so proud of where the business is at, the hard work I have put in to get to this stage and it's only getting more exciting as the years go on. . To celebrate I'm GIVING AWAY 1x 60min treatment to be used in 2021 (new or existing client). . To enter: - like @paynetherapies - tag 2 friends below (enter as many times as you like) - for an extra entry share this post to your story tagging us. . Giveaway announced Sat 28th NOV. 9.30am . Thanks again from the bottom of my heart for your constant support, I would not be at this stage without you all, my clients, my friends and of course my amazing family . Em xo See more

20.01.2022 A lot of people ask me why I got into Pilates and how did I become so passionate about it? . So I thought I would share with you a little bit about my personal journey as to why I became a Pilates Instructor. . Back when I was 13 years old my Osteopath suggested I start doing Pilates. Back then I was a competitive Race Walkerand I was starting to get little unwanted niggles that I soon learnt could be reduced with the help of regular Pilates practise. So I started atten...ding 2x Pilates classes a week (classes designed for me specifically) and focused on my strength, stability, control and flexibility and before I knew it I was training and racing more efficiently with little to no pain and I have continued to practise Pilates ever since. After completing my Myotherapy studies at @rmituniversity in 2013 I became an Xtend Barre instructor in 2014 and then over the following years completed my Mat Work, Reformer and Pilates Apparatus studies through @studio_pilates and with the help of an amazing Mentor, Wendy from @inspiredbypilates I was able to take my knowledge, confidence and passion for teaching to a whole new level. . I do what I do because 1. Exploring the way our body can move and feel fabulous is so fascinating and 2. I love to help others achieve their own personal goals, just like Pilates did for me all those years ago . Thanks to @ib_pilates_lara , @wonderyoga.au , @surfcoastpilates , & @geelongmyowell for allowing me to teach what I love and share my passion for Pilates with those who attend your beautiful studios . #feelinggrateful #pilatesislife #passion #consistentpractise See more

17.01.2022 And just like that 2021 is well on its way... Let's hope that the challenges, the disappointments, the uncertainty, the compromise, the sacrifices we made and dealt with in 2020 can help shape us and prepare us for the highs and lows of 2021. May we be stronger, show a little more kindness and a little less judgement, continue to be inspired and be open to new things, be more grateful for today and show more appreciation for what we have and who we have in our lives . Sending lots of love and positive vibes to you all for this new year. . Em x

16.01.2022 With gyms and studios opening back up (yayyy!) Don't forget to stretch it out AFTERWARDS! *Hold each stretch for at least 30sec (as an absolute minimum, otherwise nothing actually happens to the muscle fibres) For any stretching advice please don't hesitate to send me a message Happy training crew, but remember, please listen to your body

16.01.2022 Are you wanting to try a new sport? How about Triathlons? The team at @beckworthracing have put together a 12 week program for BEGINNERS! I have been there, and yes, it is very daunting trying something new, but wow it is also so rewarding! For just $280 you get a closely monitored program which looks at developing triathlon skills, confidence and fitness. Not only am I the team Myotherapist but I also had the privilege of working with this crew & @anthonygoss_tricoach... when I decided to give triathlon a go. Who would have thought that after many years of suffering from chronic fatigue, I would be able to get out there and complete Geelong Ironman 70.3 (1.9km swim, 90km bike ride, 21.1km run) ...But, with the right training load, knowledge and friendly guidance from this crew, you can achieve amazing things! Go check them out Beckworth Racing - Geelong Triathlon Coaching See more

14.01.2022 Strengthening the Obliques (These are your side abdominal muscles) Not only does it help with lower back support but also aids in holding the correct posture. Obliques assist in rotation, flexion of spine and side bending. It is important to strengthen them as they help reduce the pressure which may be put on the lower spine, therefore providing a greater support for the body and they also assist as we exhale during periods of increased demand.... *Don't leave out the obliques in your next workout!* this is a side plank on hands (can also be done on forearm or with bottom knee lowered see image#2) you can mix it up by holding this position for 30sec x 3 or by adding 12 x 2 pulses each side where the hips slightly lower and lift (you'll love pulses) *please note you may not want to wear normal socks for this one as you tend to slip (silly me) Give it a go and let me know how it feels . . . #obliques #strengthen #support #posture #pilates #myotherapy #advice

12.01.2022 A message for my Myotherapy, Pregnancy Myotherapy, Remedial Massage, Sports Massage clients As you may have noticed when recently rebooking at the end of your consult or calling to book an appointment there may have been no more spots available for 60min until middle of December . To help this situation I have decided to open up another 20hrs of time slots between now and Christmas (scary to think I am talking about Christmas) .... Those on my waitlist, myself or my beautiful reception staff have sent you a message or given you a call with optional times, if you have not heard from either of us by midday tomorrow (Tue13th) please call the clinic on 52218220 to find an earlier time slot with me or to book your times up to the end of the year. . For anyone else who's been trying to book in please give us a call on 52218220 between 9-5 . I hope you all have a fabulous week Em x See more

12.01.2022 Hey crew, so I may be closed for the coming few weeks, but don't be fooled by this little beauty: Spikey ball (You can also use a tennis ball) It's great for self treatment, place the ball under sore or tight muscular areas (eg. Glutes, beside the spine, shoulder blades) to get some relief. This can be done standing pushing against a wall or using the floor, hold for 6 breaths and move on to other tight areas Give this a go if you feel your body needs some TLC over the fes...tive period . 08.01.2022 Harry a true legend. Congrats on an incredible career! I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with Harry over the past 7 years but especially season's 2018/19. Thanks for the great chats and for your amazing efforts out on the field. @geelongcats

08.01.2022 Glute Stretch Who else has tight glutes after getting back into classes?? Stretching out the Glutes is important for many reasons It encourages more movement through the hips, decreases chances of injury and can help with lower back pain also. How to do it - Place 1 foot or ankle over the opposite knee (either laying down or sitting up as seen in image 2)... - Hug knee into chest - Hold 1-2min (repeat other side) . . . #happyglutes #happyhips #happyback #myotherapy #remedialmassage #stretching See more

07.01.2022 Walking - Improves mood and energy - Just 22min a day gives you over 150min a week which is what the Australian Physical Guidelines suggest as a minimum to transform your health. - Puts less stress on your body then running (great form of active recovery) - It's free and requires no specific equipment (you can even walk barefoot on the beach so no shoes are technically required )... - Improves flexibility / aerobic fitness and estimated lifespan. - Reduces risk of heart disease The point is that walking has so many amazing benefits which can affect the human body mentally, physically and emotionally. Not everyone is a runner, and that's ok! But now is the perfect time to try and change some unhealthy habbits especially with the weather bringing us some nicer days On a side note if you can't walk due to other underlying factors, try Swimming, Meditation, Pilates, Yoga, there is something out there for everyone. Embrace the way your body can move and reap the health benefits. Make some time for YOU Happy Monday! See more

06.01.2022 This morning I changed things up a little bit and did a stair session.... it had been a while... ouch . What's the benefits of adding stairs into your training? Well, we all know that wobbly leg feeling half way up your first set of stairs but this is the body working on leg power whilst it's strengthening the thighs, hips, calves and abdominals. It can also assist in creating and maintaining healthy bones, joints and muscles .... See if you can add in a few flights of stairs into your weekly schedule, you can walk or run and if a full flight of stairs is too much just find a step and do some step ups . Don't forget to stretch it out afterwards! I currently write this whilst laying down in a glute stretch . Happy Stair Climbing See more
